Thank you both for your comforting messages. We are doing OK. Sam had been treated for cancer of his esophagus and that proved to be a little too much for him. He grew weaker and weaker and wound up in a nursing facility where he came down with pneumonia and that's what did him in. We are of the belief that our merciful God spared my dad from what could have been very unpleasant months of suffering. He had been so active all his life and I can't believe he would have wanted to go on confined to a bed. That just wasn't him. I had felt for some time that he wouldn't be coming back to us as he once was. It is better this way.

Thank you for your comments Eric. Sam was a true American conservative. I will miss him greatly. Sadly, he never got into the blogosphere, but he would have enjoyed much of the commentary found here at Townhall.
Jennifer, I'm doing OK. I just needed a little down time. Thank you for your prayers and please don't worry. I'll be back to abnormal soon. Never have been good at keeping my mouth shut for an extended period of time. =)

Great tribute to your Dad. He is proud of you I am sure. Like everyone else I am still praying for you and I am sorry for your loss.
