A town hall gets emotional
The Ft. Myers woman who told Obama she was living in her car with her family has reportedly been offered a home. When Obama called on Henrietta Hughes at a packed town hall in Florida, she told him:

"I have an urgent need. ... We need something more than the vehicle and parks to go to. We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom, please help."

Obama hugged Hughes and kissed her on the cheek and told her to talk to his staff after the town hall meeting.

Now MSNBC reports that Florida Rep. Nick Thompson and his wife offered Hughes their second home, rent free, after hearing about her plight.

"Basically, I offered Ms. Hughes and her son the opportunity to stay in my home rent free, for as long as they need to," said Chene Thompson. "I'm not a millionaire, I'm not rich, but this is what I can do for someone if they need it."

Thanks for stopping in! There are several political parties in Mexico. PAN (GOP like), PRI (held presidential power for 70 years, Dems), PRD and PTT, which are the socialist and workers parties, could be a few more out there.

George Bush received very bad press here re the Iraq war but very good press re immigration. pbho supports abortion so that is very much frowned upon. Wow. Whatever happened to dignity and self respect? My gawd, I would never ever beg like that, let alone on international TV! I have been broke in the past but I always held my own. Didn`t go out so much, etc. "I ain`t beggin`, I`m buying!" I would never let anyone see me down like that! Remember that tearjerker movie, "Angela`s Ashes"? That young man was so ashamed his mother was begging, he was about 11 and got a job on the coal truck.

I find it interesting that the house and job offers are coming from private citizens. That it is charity from Americans coming to the rescue of the townhall me-tooers. Will they recognize that IF Obama's plan even contains a provision that would have helped them, they would have waited months and years to get the help? But from the private sector, comes help in one day.

From what I understand, an Obama staffer handed the homeless woman a business card for the housing authority. Real helpful.

Unfortunately, I think the townhallers will praise Obama for his most powerful acts of mercy in helping them to better their lives.

But the best part is that Obama is created a huge logistical nightmare for himself. From now on, every audience, townhall and presser will be filled with have-nots demanding that Obama help them too. What a mess!

Conservatives have always been generous, that is true. Generosity is just done and not trumpeted, unlike the libs, who give little or nothing and preach to the gimmees that we are heartless. Now with the "spendulous", they may succeed in destroying the private sector for a time. Anger and frustration will take over in place of hopey/changey. "Reports of the death of Conservatism have been greatly exaggerated!" It will rise again!

What happened to hard work and save your money? Channel the Carpenters, hurl!, "we`ve only just begun" to pay reparations and kill the free society. Very scary for families and people who have always paid their own way. What`s the point now, when pbho has given everyone a $13 a week tax cut! That may take care of the sales tax increase in California, on one bag of groceries! I don`t think pbho takes the job seriously yet.

Ocommie's antics come across to me as a reality show. He cant keep himself off TV for one day to save his life. He's on more than Law and Order. Well said! pbho can`t charm the socks off you! Right on! A few months ago, I made a pitcher of iced tea, with sugar and lemon. It was so good! I drank it all day and couldn`t sleep for about 48 hours! It was some kind of caffine jolt, for sure. Now I just drink one glass early in the afternoon.
