The Skinny on Obama's Surgeon General Nominee

As a practicing obese person myself, I promise never to accept a job as surgeon general (As an seventy five year old conservative with a Phd in Communications and Theatre, such a nomination is unlikely anyway)
People have always had strange ideas about weight (I once spent a substantial part of my life eating cabbage soup)
Savannah Georgia used to have a wonderful deli-bakery named Gottlieb's. As I stood in line to check out with my usual purchase of squaw bread (you have to be there to know) whole wheat bread, eclairs and cheese danish, the woman ahead of me concluded her purchase of cakes (and some of the same stuff I had). She then interrupted her checkout by saying, "I better have a six pack of Diet Coke, to cancel out all these calories."
