the myth of military efficiency

There are some who think that the military is the only thing that the governement does efficiently. That is not true. The government does not do anything efficiently. As President Obama recently said, UPS and FedEx do well; it's the Post Office that is always having trouble. The military is a necessary monopoly. However, it does nothing efficiently. More than likely, it has something to do with its connection to Congress. For instance, a plane must be built in several states in order to get the Congressmen and Senators of several states to vote support for it.
