to 1960 when Kennedy's Catholicism was an issue? I am a little too young to remember, but in reading about it, most of the Media treated the whole religion issue differently, downplaying it's importance but I guess that shouldn't surprise anyone. Good post!

That's a great summation. Romney's inroads violate the media template, and in a way that benefits Republicans. Can't have that...No siree.
