Comment on: Calling a Spade a Spade

A Question of Character

Well said, my friend!

That was a beautiful summarization. Captured the situation in every detail.

How in hell did I beat JimmyC to first comment?

Jimmy Carter gets to you...

first; I have a feeling that you may be the first one to check out the Spade!

I was involved in the debate on Burt's article, and I figured this was the next article I should post. Some of those Republicans that are so into voting for whomever the Party puts forward may need to read this and reconsider their blind loyalty. You know the saying: If the blind are leading the blind, everyone's going to wind up in a ditch!

Btw: Check the newest post too, I must humbly say that I think it's pretty darned good!

I think

you've touched on the very essence of the problems with todays political arena.Pandering has become the political agenda for both parties.Once elected, they know they're *in the system* and don't have to accomplish squat until the next election cycle. We have critical issues to address in this country(illegals, pork projects, etc)yet they do nothing for fear of losing a vote.Very good essay.....

Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated. You are right that once a politician gets in the system, they will likely be there awhile. Incumbents are almost untouchable, especially if they can get the Party on their side. If that happens then you really see who our reps really are at heart; they will not listen to us once they are entrenched in office, and will do whatever best suits their purposes. Professional politicians are a blight on our government and it would be so great if we could be rid of them!
