Good to see you back

Yup. Style over substance, symbolism over principle. That's a good way to say it.

Thanks VDaddy!

It just amazes me...the main points of Martin Luther King's vision of "character" over the color of one's skin has meant nothing to the libs...but I guess since most radical libs believe everything Rev Wright, Fleger, and all the 60's "revolutionaries" who hang out with Barack believe, his rise to this position doesn't surprise me...

Probably not

a ho hum reaction....from pulpits and lectures we would hear about the Uncle Tom qualities of any black candidate who would run as a Republican, we would hear charges of the "token minority of the Republican party", a charge always leveled towards any promotion within the party earned by JC Watts when he was the only member of his race on the Republican side of the aisle in the house, it would not be ho hum, it would be an all out war.

Dr King's legacy

is only important in order to show that people who marched with him (like Jesse-be-the-Jackson) have credibility. The words of how he wanted his son to be judged in America is the min point of the speech, but to liberals it is the one part of the speech that is to be forgotten.

Sheila

Those of us on the right had better not even try to mention how unqualified he is that could be considered racial.

We can't criticize his wife, can't talk about the church problem, etc.

Soon all we will be able to say is how wonderful President Obama is.

Yeah Shelia,

the group thought if the LSM is about as deep as a puddle.

wil...

Yeah, you have a point there...:)

By the way

Good to see you around again Sheila.

Crawfish...

Yup, I think King would be shocked to find one's skin color today will absolve you of any questionable associations of 20 years ...and get you accolades from the left, and even land you the dem nomination for pres!

Why should anyone care if you hang out with a basic ex-pentagon bomber, who wishes he had done more damage than he did, or a spiritual mentor who says d*m the United States of America, or if you have a 401K, and you aren't willing to give it up, you are benefiting from slavery, and you're as guilty as those who held slaves.

It is remarkable!

Thanks wil...

Nice of you to say.

Jev...:)

I don't think we're there yet...

Hey Masch...:)

"Group think"? Naw! LOL

Hey Masch...

"Group think"? Naw! Not the drive buys!

Ooops...thought I lost that one.

And that should be "driveby's"...drivebyes??? Oh, well...

Choosing race

Funny how in our racist country, run by and for the white man (sorry, Sheila), an ambitious politician angling to be president chose to label himself "Black" when he could just as easily have chosen "White." I mean when given by genetics a 50-50 option, why on earth would he make that choice when he knows that the US is a racist country run by and for the white man (sorry again, Sheila)? Even opting for "Neither" would seem more prudent.

I guess he has an understanding of such things beyond my grasp.

Scatbug

Good to hear from you! Yes an interesting little detail everyone ignores.

I must say

I did enjoy the Clintons getting accused of racism. Now they know what it feels like to be a Republican.

Sandra..:)

Great to see you!

No kidding...seems the bloom is off the Rose...LOL

Clinton's no longer are the rock stars of the left...wonder why.

He's got just the right qualifications

For Them.

He says what they tell him to say, He acts like they tell him to act. He believes what they tell him to believe.
Yup, Soros found his perfect candidate.

Redhead!

Good to hear from you! Yes you nailed it, I'm afraid.

I just received a youtube video of one of his supporters tongue-tied when asked by Chris Mathews to name Ob's accomplishments in the Senate...um...he came up with zero.

Sheila

Neil Boortz has a running call on his show for anyone who can name Obamamama's achievements. To date, I still don't think he's gotten any serious challenges. I looked his record up on Thomas Register (linked on my latest post) and all he's sponsored or cosponsored has gone to committee, except for his few calls of support for this or that person for something or other...

Redhead

I wonder how many voters actually care about that, or are just plum naive about the whole issue...I guess we'll know in November.

Sheila

I just discovered "One Eighty". I'm very impressed with your blog. Boy, you hit the nail on the head... The Democrat Party is promoting Obama on style not substance, and If you dare question him or his positions you are called an "uneducated racist" and told "you just don't get it." I just tell them I am educated and the reason I'm not voting for Obama has nothing to do with race, rather it is because I do not like to have socialists in positions of power.

You're a great American...

Sincerely,

MJSJR
Conservative Prime

Hi Sheila

Long time no see and I haven't been around either.

Your name of the article speaks for itself, but of course for the rabid and irrational libs and their buddies in the MSM, we should all vote for this guy just because he's black. Never mind he has no qualifications to be POTUS or even Senator in my view.

Thanks MJSJR,

I appreciate you kind words. And thanks for your thoughts on the matter.

We face a real challenge in this country, with truth vs propaganda.

Let's hope there are more citizens who understand the truth than those believe the propaganda on the left...

Pep

Reality doesn't seem to matter to those who operate on "feelings" rather than facts...too many have been brain washed by the left's propaganda...a dangerous situation for the country, I must say.

Dreams

If only Hillary had done blackface she could have had a chance at winning this thing.

While I agree with the premise that it should be one's positions on the issues and resume that should count, the political atmosphere and personality matter in equal measure for better or for worse.

Christopher

Yes, personality plays a large part as well, but race and gender should have nothing to do with it. To vote for Hill because she's a woman would be ridiculous considering she hasn't been very successful in the "woman" department.

To vote for Ob because he's black makes no sense either, because how does race qualify him?

To vote for Mc because he's white would be ludicrous... being white does not make anyone qualified to be president, just as being black or a woman doesn't...

Racism

is kept alive by the Democrats. One of the most powerful persons in the world is a black woman, Condaleeza. That ceiling has come tumbling down, yet the Dems haven't noticed.

Sandra

The dems don't want to recognize Condi...she's an a "evil" republican.

It's sad but true...the dems just want to keep people dumbed down and dependent.

race/gender as qualifications

Sheila,

I decided to read all your posts. They are all quite well stated and "right on". Keep up the good work. Maybe we can light a fire under the silent majority, if we can just pull them away from "Desperate Housewives" long enough.

Thanks Bobbie.

Nice of you to read.

We definitely need to wake up the people who aren't paying attention...you are exactly right.
