I just watched some TV coverage of Mad Mahmoud's Letter to the American People. The reporter of course was treating this as some serious news story, wondering what the public's reaction would be, etc. I'm sure I'm not the only one puzzled over the warm embrace a real life religious fanatic receives from American liberals. I suppose in their minds no one can be worse than W, so they do what they can to convince themselves of that.

I may need to go dig out a post a did on 'moral subservience' a while back. It seems relevant again.

Oddly enough, I think your way would engender a lot more respect from the Arab culture than what we are currently doing, but alas, we're too civilized.

I composed this lark before the Ahmandinejad message came out. So I'm either clairvoyant (unlikely), or like the proverbial blind hog, I've stumbled over an acorn here.

Of course the left will find a way to embrace this nutcase; after all they love Castro and Chavez. If you're a murderous psychopath with a socialist agenda and spout discredited Marxist theory, you're almost as cool as Scarlet Johannson. But if you can discredit religion in the process of murdering multitudes, you are "absolute zero cool" to the left.

That's right...the first rule for leftist love is hatred of America. When the jihadists start coming for them I'm sure their last words will be, "But I thought we were friends?"

I really don't understand the Left's undermining of a war against an ideology that is antithetical to everything they believe. We hear nothing from the feminists, nor the homosexuals, nor the athiests, nor the multiculturalists. All of these groups are at the top of the list for oppression or death, yet there is no support for the WOT. I guess hating America makes very strange bedfellows.

This is a good post and it says just about all that needs to be said. It does not matter what the Iranians say, watch what they DO! Like Netanyahu said, "If someone says they are going to kill you, believe them!"
