Interesting take, we could go further with the thought line. Since no one had heard of swine flu until a few months ago it should have never made the news.

Since few of us ever see a homeless person or even know one personally we shouldn't be told about their plight.

If you never knew of ENRON what's the big fuss about the collapse, why bother prosecuting anyone?

Simply because you were ignorant of their existence before doesn't mean they didn't exist and if they are funded by our tax dollars why wouldn't you want to be informed of what now seems to be widespread misbehaviour on their part.

Remaining blissfully uninformed of things we find personally inconvinient is a rather naive approach to life.
