So it was Ralph Ellison that you were talking about! Ralph and I have had several debates over different issues, ans even though we often disagree he is usually not disagreeable with me. But like most liberals, and many liberal blacks he tends to see the world as a harsh place that is so racially biased that he is always looking for the latent racism in everyone...especially conservatives. But in general, if you debate him and avoid fussing, he is generally willing to engage in debate.

As for the African American tag, I had a post up quite some time ago at my blog about it, and I have no problem with the tag. As a matter of fact, I often call myself an African American since I don't think it conveys any sense of my not being an American. As I stated in my post, we seem to have no problem with labels like Italian American or Japanese American, so there shouldn't be any problem with African American. What you call yourself doesn't matter, how you conduct yourself does.

Finally, it seems that the stories you have highlighted here are the unintended consequences of multiculturalism. How can the multi-cultis condemn these types of actions, when it is their insistence that new comers to America RESIST assimilation/acculturation and cling to their home cultures?

Thank you. I just found out that the little corner store I go to cigs and what ever I don't want to start the car for were Pakistani's and ICE was on their tails. They have been there for about 6 months. But I have noticed that these little stores change owners a lot. The man that bought this one is from India and he said they will just disappsear and set up some where else. Good to know. They were 2 nice family's. But the new owners said it happens all the time. But I noticed around here that it happens a lot.

I agree. Stories do change. People, especially Americans, get amnesia. As for hate path, hate is taught. I wasn’t taught to hate anyone (except homosexuals by my former evangelical church). What I was taught though is to recognize truth, reality, and its inseparable relationship to history.

Quite the contrary, it doesn’t bog me down. I have not developed a hatred toward “white” people either. I just like truth based on fact and reality and sometimes it hurts. Racial inequality still exists and needs to be addressed. Racial profiling still runs rampant and needs to be addressed. This is not hate, it is truth. To sit by and do nothing is to deny the message of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to do unto the least of these.
