Pomp and Ridiculous Circumstance

I am too quiet...

Fortunately, Kevin isn't. I had this up about an hour ago both at my little corner of TH and my main blog.

What is truly bizzare is the statement from the Bloomer School District. Bear in mind that they institued their written cap-and-gown-only policy only after Daniel Lingen requested that he wear his Marine dress blues, and that an attempt to put in an exception for military uniforms died for a lack of a second.

I second Steve's comment!

Since SOME School board members don't have the cahones to provide the necessary "second" where it counts....I guess mine will have to count in some small measure....

Once again Wisconsin is in the news...for the WRONG reason....

My bad!

I added an update with a link to your post.

And don't feel bad about "being quiet." Kevin was buggin' me on Google Talk to check out the story, so as soon as I had a free minute, I wanted to post it.

Thanks to PeteRepublic for your comment, too.

Goes to show the influence I don't have

Kevin, Pete and I were coordinating to try to get somebody outside of the Cheddarsphere to notice this. So far, you're the only one we got.

I'm just glad it didn't hit 48 hours later than it did; I'd either be watching the Cards or fork-deep in the Tortellini Alla Panna with nothing more than a cheap phone and Twitter to keep me up to date.

Steve:

Are you really going?? I thought you had been joking all this time... haha

I'm serious

It's about 370 miles to St. Louis from my home, so while it is a bit of a drive, it's nothing I haven't done before. I am a baseball fan, so New Busch Stadium does hold an interest. I like Italian food, so I can say I'm combining trips.

Just don't expect my mug in front of any cameras :-)

Well, enjoy!

Go Cards and enjoy the pasta!
