Tortured by Torment?

You've hit the bulls eye on this one Archer! It makes me sick this whole play on words that all politicians are doing. You have to carry around a thesaurs to understand what they are trying or not trying to say. Especially Barack! This one makes me really mad. It's funny how none of the "talking heads" in the media picked up on this one. If anyone is in doubt that Obama just picked the word "tormented" check this youtube video http://youtube.com/watch?v=iutTbNABZ-U
Thanks for posting this blog.

Archer I agree with you that having a president who knows the sacrifices and consequences of serving, protecting and defending this country first hand, if anything tells us he's a president that understands at a very deep level what he would be asking the young men and women of our military for.

Obviously, the fact that McCain is a war veteran alone does not qualify him for president however the comment "having been shot down does not qualify him" is a lame attempt at minimizing what I think is the ultimate show of respect and devotion for the principals and values that this country stands for. Being ready to pay the ultimate price for his country is nothing to sneeze at nor should it be dismissed by anyone.

Now on the decision to use the word "torment" , it's just another example on how politician are forced to use and not use certain words just to be consistent with there agenda.

Thanks Archer

I really enjoyed reading your work and you are so right. I was really suprised when no other media people had picked up on it. I did hear a caller on Rush Limbaugh making the same comment you had made but Limbaugh didn't recall hearing that and said he would have to go review the tape to see. He said if it is infact true that Obama said what he had then he was definately downplaying the whole thing.
I recently started reading Dick Morris' new book "Fleeced" and reading that what Obama has in store for the country isn't good. People don't see past the smooth talker he apparently is. He'll raise taxes and we'll be out more money than we already are now. Raising taxes is only one of the numerous things. People need to wake up and see what he's all about.

Who can deny this is Socialism???

I have been looking over Sen. NObama's plans to wreck er, give heathcare to all America - including the 11 million or so illegal er, 'undocumented' immigrants. The plan would be bad in the following ways that you might not have thought of:

1) With physicians being told what to charge for everything (non-negotiable) they will not get paid enough to stay in practice.
2) Fewer students will go on to med school because they won't have the incentive to become a physician (no pay).
3) Fewer doctors will make it difficult to see ANY doctor.
4) Hospitals will begin shutting down in rapid succession because fewer doctors = fewer dollars.
5) Decreased profits will mean fewer healthcare workers as they will get fired, downsized, etc.
6) Nurses (who already are overburdened, understaffed, underpaid, and pissed off) will either be forced to take pay cuts or quit.
7) Grandma who was lucky enough to get admitted for that broken hip under NObama's plan will get really crappy care and
probably die from a secondary infection, inpatient fall, or medical error because her nurse was working an 16 hour shift in order to pay her bills because of NObama's increased taxes.
8) The government will over-regulate the healthcare system so much, that none of the hospitals can meet all their requirements and
have to close due to so many fines and lack of reimbursment.

Think about it!!

Hey Archer. I really enjoyed your work. What I don't understand, maybe it's my lack of political knowledge, why did Obama even bother distancing himself from the statements made whe he was going to say something just as disrespectful.

Hey obama... would you like a glass of water to swallow your foot there buddy?

Whether McCain is the best candidate or not for the position is a matter of opinion... that's why we vote. But to demean what someone has gone through as a means of self-promotion is ridiculous.

If he is such a great speaker than maybe we should just vote for whoever is going to give us the best educational progress; that way kids won't grow up and make asinine statements like those. Jeez. McCain went through what he did because he is a patriot. And campaign ploys aside Obama is no one to degrade McCain's history.

Thanks again for a wonderful blog!
