I can see how you got your name
Sanity is a good name for you because you have some.
Yes it does seem that 9/11 only changed for a moment for some. We know who they are those on the liberal left.
I have been adding comments to articles on TownHall, and by the comments of others I can see that nothing has changed.
From the "16 words" in the State of the Union speech in 2003, to Bush lied us into war, it's still the same.
This way of posting and adding comments is good because you don't have preconceived ideas about people. You don't know who is man or woman, you just read their words.
Good work.

I told you that I would be honest...
And since you have taken it upon yourself to "critique" my blog, let me repay the "favor".
You have a way of touching the average reader; a kind of honest confusion that I think most people can empathize with.
It's easy to "tell" people what to do or what to think; something most bloggers try to do. It's getting people to try to work things out in their own mind that's hard.
You mention interesting articles and then express your view...and the almost heartbreaking "why?" in your post expresses well the same question most people have.
Jevica...don't worry too much about changing the minds of other posters or even Libs...it's the Independents and Moderates that sway elections that will take to your words and make a difference.
Keep posting and especially, keep up with that blog...again, you have that touch and it's needed.

If this is honesty
keep it up. I try to post what I want to.
I want to put out there what is not being said on the MSM, about Islam, and Environmental stuff, and attacks on our troops by left wing fools, how government is too big and intrusive in our lives.
I know [firsthand] you can't change the mind of a liberal.
As I said [and in my bio.] I post what I want to, and if people don't like it leave a comment or don't read my blog, it's real simple.
I had one that left a comment about my posts about Islam, I took the comment and my response and made that into another post and asked for comments on that.
It's like watching TV if you don't like the show change the channel.
I'm interested to know what part of the country you live in. My being in NYC does not get me to many positive responses from my legislators.

9-11 changed everything for everyone in the world, but only some understand...the Left will lie their way to our defeat if they can, and what will be of the world without a strong America...only God knows.

Waikiki is in Hawaii
and (sob), talk about liberal country!
Hawaii was only one of two states to vote for Carter the second time around (not even his own state voted for him!)
About "changing the channel"; but that's my point...readers WON'T change your channel. They don't have to agree with you (I don't on the illegal immigration issue) but you do make them think and in the process, you and the reader may find the answers.
Being "teacher" and "pupil" is a difficult balance few bloggers can achieve. You seem to do so instictively. And it is an important skill because right now, the only way we are going to return Congress to those serious about winning the war and to keep the WH is to re-win the Independents and Moderates. Both groups will shun preachy and extreme blogs but may stay around long enough to get something from yours.

It isn't just the left that has forgotten. The right has too. Many have jumped right on the "blame Bush" bandwagon and want to cut and run from Iraq because it's not "our" war.

you are so right
They have jumped on the "blame Bush" because they are in the CYA mode.
All they seem to care about is get elected again.
They are the ones who cry "too soon" with "Flight 93" and shows and movies like that.
We can't agree on everything, and rarely do but I believe we have to fight this war against Radical Islam, Islamic terror, or whatever you want to call it leaving before the job is done will not help.

Your account
brought every moment of that horrible day back to me. I remember going to the University where I teach and hearing one teacher in the hallway screaming "I am so mad!"
That sentiment has completely disappeared from the halls and now Bush is to blame.

Can I make a request? After reading your post about your best friend's daughter...I was thinking how much could be gained if you shared your own "story" of 9/11.

Thanks for asking.
It would be hard to put into words all the things that I felt on that day. You did a great job and I could identify with so much that you said.
I had to teach the next day and my students wanted to talk about it and we did. I remember the anger over the attack that all my colleagues and students felt and the "love of country" that emerged. For weeks the parking lots were filled with cars with flags.
Now things are back as before and conservative teachers need to be careful not to discuss the war or comment on patriotism, etc. Liberal teachers can vent all they want about their opposition to Bush and the War.
I would be afraid to have a flag on my car now for fear of vandalism. On our campus the change was for "a moment."
