I'd rather be a sheep to the Creator of the universe than the leader of a bunch of nothing headed for nowhere!

Greg Laurie gave a sermon once about how sometimes the shepherd has to konk the sheep over the head to keep the sheep from hurting himself.

I've been kinked a few times myself, and the Bible is very specific about those who hate discipline. We need it!

Yeah, I heard a sermon like that one too. Talked about how absurd it was to think that the Shepherd would give his life in protection of the sheep. How weird is that? Sheep are raised to be shorn and slaughtered…so what if a wolf or bear kills one? Just chalk it up as a loss and go on…but to have a shepherd actually lay down his life to protect the sheep? That would be like the President of the US laying down his life to protect a Secret Service agent. It’s not supposed to be that way…but that is what Christ did for His people. Man, I still can’t fathom the love of God that He has for His Elect ones…
