Spotted an error immediately in the first paragraph.

His family immigrated from the Alsace region of eastern France in the late 1900s. Eric was born in New York City in 1905.

I believe it would be more accurate to say 1800's.

Moving on: "They see what we show them and we show them much of our very worst. And their leaders add the spice and the side dishes."

So very true, in fact, it is short of a complete view. Imagine that you are living in a country with strict separation of sexes, with limited promiscuity, where punishment is handed out for what WE might consider trivial matters and that punishment is stringent and heavy handed.

Now, how would you see these ridiculous reality shows or Jerry Springer or our women dancing in practically no clothes, etc., etc., etc.??. If it's enough to make us think something is wrong, what are people in distant cultures going to think.??. Simple, stay away from that and don't let it come anywhere near my world.

Lah ti dah. Destroy it is the only answer to saving what you have. Cancers must be destroyed or they metastasize. Ergo, al Qaeda is present, front and center. That's the full story as I have instinctively understood from day one. A culture clash that can only end in one fashion, per al Qaeda.
