"Look it up" was a common phrase for me. Now as a teacher in a Christian school, I find myself saying that quite a bit. I'm pretty new at this blog stuff too. I started a blog on yahoo 360 in late August because there was so much I wanted to tell people on the election. It is at

Just last week I decided to try TownHall out. It is a whole different crowd. I liked your other post on your observations of TH and the liberal responders. My general observation is that liberals try to discredit the message and messenger in hopes that no one will give an ear to the ideas being presented. For example, one of my first posts on TH I had a lib leave a comment on what a waste of time my post was. He had nothing of substance to counter with, only disparaging remarks.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks and thank you for popping in to Our Posterity. It's all about what we leave for the next generation.
I will stop by your place, indeed I will. However, please know I don't "join" very quickly. My name is precious to me and I am by nature cautious. Hope you understand and

Thank you for popping in to Our Posterity. I KNEW I wasn't the only one who was told to "look it up."
Being new to blogdom is kind of exciting in its own way, eh? I will check out your blog at my first opportunity.
My first impressions at TH seem to be holding up. Form and not substance seems to be the norm for a handful of the liberal leftists. Others actually give argument. I have seen your posts in a couple columns, I believe. You are better at expressing yourself than am I.
I hope your blog also has some info relative to teaching in a Christian school. I do so admire you and your fellow teachers.
To you, your family and friends -- A Blessed Christmas

Very good points in this super posting!!
Children learn what they live, and I can see you are living correct. Be rest assured your parents are definitely proud of you.
Most people have not had this teaching...hence that is why we are in the mess we are in.
Being a parent takes responsibility, most parents do not have this in this day and age.
Have a Merry Christmas and most prosperous New Year!!
God Bless
Jason

Look it up.
Those three words haunted much of my childhood. I once complained to my father asking, “Why can't you just tell me so I will know?”
His response set me back, “Because you won't learn if I tell you. You might know it, but if you look it up on you own, you will learn it.”
It was years before I finally understood what he was actually telling me.
That machinist, who never attended school past the sixth grade, defined a greater truth with his simple statement. Knowledge is only acquired, but an education is earned.
I thought of my father the first time I saw you nickname – words of wisdom I follow to this day.
“A day isn't complete until you learn something.”

Thank you for your kind words. I am grateful. I would have loved being a Mom but it was not meant to be. However, I do so admire parents and even though no one does everything right, it is amazing what we learn if we just listen.
God has blessed me greatly. For a little over 30 years, my verses have been Lamentations 3: 22-23.
Take care.

Yet another who has heard "look it up." Amazing. Your Father sounds like a remarkable man to me. How fortunate you are and see what his wisdom has done -- you.
Time to go wrap gifts for tomorrow ...
Enjoy celebrating the birth of the Lord!

Thank you for popping in. Indeed, I did have good parents. Obviously you grew up with a similar background.
Isn't it funny how we rebel against that which is good for us and then come back to the truth.
If I had a daughter or son, I would also be telling them to 'look it up.'
I will visit your blog next week and thank you again for stopping by.

Thank you, John, for stopping in and commenting. I appreciate your kind words about my folks.
"Compromise" has been a grwoing mantra since I was a kid. Like you, I won't compromise certain beliefs and positions. I know where to draw those lines.
I will "pop" in on your blog later and I trust you will have a healthy and safe 2009.
Have a fine one.
