Good analysis

good job malize, I enjoyed the piece.

History?

The history of weapons developement is probably the most enlightening history you can study yet it is unlikely to ever be taught in our public schools.

Our entire World has been shaped by refinements in weapons. They shape the boundary of ever Nation.

How many know the Spanish soldiers on San Juan hill were fortified behind log barricades and this was the first time the Browning .50 water cooled machine guns ever saw action?
When Teddy charged up San Juan hill there was nothing up there but splintered logs and dead Spanish soldiers.

M1911 was made for islamic terrorists

...just from a different age.

Your right MyOp...I recently downloaded from my brain to my high school son's brain how the Nazi's provided the world with Volkswagens, Porsches, and landing men on the Moon.

Such esoteric things as the invention of the stirrup for armored knights...and how that altered the course of history.

It's nice to hear someone discuss

history, who seems to know a thing or two. I really wish I had gotten a better education, myself. But, by the 70s-80s, our public schools were pretty well infiltrated by socialist rewrites.

What I don't get about Libs is that they, since day one, have called Iraq a Vietnam-like quagmire and complained of catastrophe, have met with enemy leaders behind our president's back (or flaunting themselves before him), have denigrated our soldiers and have been heavily demoralizing the nation concerning a 'lost war' through the media. They themselves are repeating at least THAT part of Vietnam.

Personally, I can't talk about this or that military strategy with much authority, but I can see the Beltway full of immature babies who can't see past their own inane, dangerous and elitist views.

But I'll make darn sure my own children learn the important and valuable parts of history!

History

For most, history is a painful topic. It has a tendency to reveal pitfalls and shortcomings most would "Rather" not address. We frail humans would "Rather" disregard the past because we would have to actually learn a thing or two...which would force us to adjust the road upon that which we were/are currently traveling upon.

Others would have us adopt the adage that, "That was the past. Let's move forward." This is a shallow mind dabbling in ignorance and stupidities. Such are the ways of the Leftinistra.

My brother was KIA in Nam in the Tet of '68, Quan Tri Province. I didn't learn from that particular history lesson until AFTER I had made the MAJOR error of my life of voting for James Earl Carter for President...my first presidential election experience.

Since that time, having learned 2 years later that JC was a complete fool, I have dedicated my life to learning everything my existence could take in and assimilate and most of all...apply.

I sneer deeply in ridicule when I hear the Leftinistra compare the GWOT in Iraq (but not Afghanistan or elsewhere) to Vietnam. The only thing that is similar is the actions of the Yellow Streaked Surrender Monkeys of the Leftinistra in the midst of both political parties.

Much of my learning has been directed towards the Islamic filth we are fighting now and should have been done at the end of WWII. A major flaw in the GWOT is the adage that, "Islam is a peaceful religion." I disagree vehemently with GWB, et al, on this point.

I am running a series on my blog, written by guest authors that I have learned from and are much better versed in the ways of Islam that I am. It would behoove us all to learn of Islam.

It is a scourge and a virus and is no more a religion of peace than I am a supporter of the Hitlery Clintonista Beotch.

Snooper - Quan Tri, USMC?

My ex's dad was Marine and served in that area was wounded more than once but returned - at least 2 tours, 3rd Regiment, USMC.
