"liberal society" - "flourishes"

Perhaps you meant to say
"liberal society" - "decays"

Thanks for your input...guess it depends on your point of view. Throughout history liberal societies flourish in the beginning, because they (Liberals) are in the minority being supported and propped-up by conservative thought and actions; pandering to this minority. Once the Liberals become the majority it begins a progressive decline until conservative thought and actions once again become the majority. This cycle just keeps on repeating itself again and again.
