Mitt: Founders Prohibited Religious Test

The Double Standard

This was Overall an Excellent speech. Someone eventually had to make a speech like this especially calling out Secularism as the new "religion" For this I admire and salute Mr. Romney! However, It sickens me when ALL ALONG the media has been badgering Huckabee making reference to his experience as a Pastor INSTEAD of 10 1/2 years as a Governor. When Huckabee has the gall to short circuit all the questions by acknowledging himself to be a "Christian Leader"/ much akin to Romney's speech...instead of letting the under the radar mumblings and mischaracterization go unchecked- they hit it straight on..."this is who we are". The only difference is Huckabee acknowledged this form the beginning and Romney waited until his poll numbers dropped ..he should have addressed it a long time ago. But whatever, I like either one of them MUCH more than ANY of the others. We need someone who can articulate with conviction the coarsening culture of our time.(BUT IF IT IS VERIFIED THAT ROMNEY DID HIS OWN PUSH POLLING TO GARNER SYMPATHY as cited above I WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED.)

Roger Williams--I AGREE!!!

Interesting speech - well delievered- he mentioned..very interestingly... Roger Williams, a Baptist who after he was kicked out of the other colonies founded Rhode Island- the first colony to establish true religious liberty Here is a quote from a Plea for religious liberty which you seem to like to quote.(Google it for yourself): I Quote:

"It is as necessary, yea more honorable, godly, and Christian, to fight the fight of faith, with religious and spiritual artillery, and to contend earnestly for the faith of Jesus, once delivered to the saints against all opposers, and the gates of earth and hell, men or devils, yea against Paul himself, or an ANGEL(MORONI?)form Heaven, IF HE BRING ANY OTHER FAITH OR DOCTRINE"

....(emphasis mine)(all words in Parenthesis mine)

...Susan make no mistake that although he would have been absolutely for your right to believe what you want he would have encouraged open debate where he would have reasoned with you about what you believe from the scriptures. But he would have never called you a bigot...would you have called Roger williams a bigot for disagreeing with you on principle?

Another Quote:

Sixthly, it is the will and command of God that (since the coming of his Son the Lord Jesus) a permission of the most paganish, Jewish, Turkish, or antichristian consciences and worships, be granted to all men in all nations and countries; and they are only to be fought against with that sword which is only (in soul matters) able to conquer, to wit, the sword of God's Spirit, the Word of God.

The ban against a religious test

binds government, not individuals. And the more Mormons try to twist the meaning of the Constitution by implying that Article 6 Section 3 applies to voters, the more I distrust them and have even MORE reason to doubt their fitness to serve in office.

If you don't tell me what you believe (religiously) and you demand the right to hide it (and you have that right), then don't ask anything further from me.

Now. I don't say you have to tell me your beliefs. You don't have to. Just like I don't have to vote for you because you have not answered my questions.

You are free not to elaborate and I am free to reject you because you refuse to. Yet, we both are in good standing as citizens.

Romney is afraid to talk about Mormonism. All our leaders are afraid to talk about their respective faiths.

Perhaps this is why America is on its death bed.

TRANSPARENCY...

Mitt Romney's Religion-Should it Matter$

After months of resisting suggestions to publicy address his Mormon religion, Mitt Romney gave an impressive speech this week at College Station, Texas stating his position on what role if any, religion would play for him as president. I say it was impressive because, in my view, it should put to rest any doubts about Mormon influence upon public policy in a Romney Administration....

Difference Between Mormons and Jews

I respect the fact that Jews don't acknowlege Jesus as God, I just think they're wrong.

However, Jews aren't riding their bikes around your neighborhood seeking converts.

This is the prime reason most Christians are leary of Romney and other Mormons.

They aren't bad people for the most part, but their religion is based on lies.

If they kept their fantasy to themselves then it wouldn't be an issue.

However, electing a Mormon president could lend credibility to this scam.
