What is the Unforgivable Sin and How Do I Know If I've Committed It?

It's only one example

Guy

Thanks for your comment.

A sin that rejects Christ by rationalizing away the work of the Holy Spirit certainly includes the example of attributing the works of God to Satan but that is not an exhaustive list of examples, merely the particular example going on with Jesus and the Pharisees. Others might attribute the Holy Spirit to being "a psychological mind trip" etc. It is the rationalization and excuse to refuse repentance that concerns Jesus. Bottom line once again: There cannot be two unforgivable sins if Jesus said there is only one and since we know rejecting Christ is an unforgivable sin this must be an example of the same thing.

Time does not permit me to get into lengthy discussions over the internet but I invite you to call my radio program where we can discuss this in more detail. Info on the program is found at the bottom of each blog.

Thank you, my friend and Happy New Year.

Part Two of my response

I am very familier with dispensational theology which teaches that the age of miracles has ceased. However, according Acts 2 when Peter is addressing the crowd and talking about the fulfillment of the prophet Joel, the last days (which Peter said had begun) begins with miracles and ends with the end of the world. It is simply impossible to say that an age of miracles has ceased after reading this passage.

Ironically (present company accepted because I do not know you) when dispensational Christians see modern day miracles, they often assume it could not have come from God and attribute the miracles to, you guessed it, Satan.

Just some food for thought. Again,Happy New Year!

Response again

You are correct. I do not fit into any one category. I invite you to read some articles from my website.

I do accept many Charismatic experiences but I reject much charismatic theology. (example: Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation) If that helps to clarify a bit.

There are documented cases of miracles and you can hear me interview such cases on radio shows posted to my website: http://www.bobsiegel.net. Simply click into the "radio" section and then the sub-section entitled: Modern Miracles. I realize you are not rejecting miracles but since this conversation dovetailed into dispensationalism which generally does deny modern miracles I thought you might still find these shows interesting.

Also, even though I am a Jew converted to Christianity I do not view my identity as a Messianic Jew. Many in that movement are deveopeing dangerous theologies based upon arrogance and teaching that Jewish Christisns must follow the law, all nonsense to anyone who has read the book of Galatians.

Take care

Bob
