The McChurch and homosexuality

Thank you so much...

for having the forthright ability to bring scripture as it denotes. The Word has a clear message that is a principle. "My people perish for lack of knowledge" this is equally relevant in the secular ranks as well. She obviously is one of those christian in name only types and has a lack un true understanding.

The Christians whose currency we are quickly evaporating with ignorance never had these problems as pervasively as the church does today because of a complete lack of knowledge of the total Word of God. He never comdemns His Creation, He gives us the choice which is why "His mercies are new each day" everyday is a chance to get it right. But there is asimple rule of rebellion we are over looking... if one is going to rebel, there actually doesn't have to be a problem. All it requires is someone who doesn't want to conform to the laws, or duties or tasks or policies required.

Rebellion incites revolution... it's that simeple. This now becomes a tactic, you accuse the institution you are at odds with. Knowing that there is or was any validity to any claims. Rebellion has never needed to be justified... just acted upon. This why why social liberals tend to be the more open-minded to alternative suggestion because it usually means a lack dicipline in understanding to short the application of such is usually the rule of the day to them. That is why they all have similar areas of social deviance. If you boiled all of their arguments down, ther would only be two... the same ones they are claiming we harp on so much.

They want to not feel a social stigma for the acts they engage in. But hat is imposiible, people are born ignorant, but not stupid. Ignorance can be cured with knoweldge. Stupidity is inccurable. The behavior is bio-illogical, there is absolutely no logic for the begavior. Even reason cannot propose a defense for such. This is almost as insane as the Emperor Dometian waging war against a risen Christ... that was the begining of the bankrupting of Rome's coffers.

Well, we are allowing the same thing when we are soft on behavior that is clearly socially self destructive. We know to put this nonsense down and we have to stay at it... Christ warned us about the days when followers will be tii caught up with fitting in. Salt and light doesn't mean give up the fight. Nutters don't have a rason for their rebellion.... they only seek consensus which is why democracy is so important to them, and converslely why God tells us what he feels about demacracy in the bool of Daniel... not too highly of it. In our govenrment exists the understand that we are a system of states codified together as a union under the rule of law that practices some democratic ideals; the operative phrase here is some... meaning simply that 99 people can want something, but if 5 are morally correct... the arguement is over. The 99 have to submit... that is why they are attack the moral premise of our laws because they now about artice 4 of our constitution. But chirch/state separation is purely mythological, but the Lenin tactic of repeat it til you believe it is strong medicine to a reprobate mind. But article 4 dismisses such lunacy and tells us we are not a democracy but a republic and such was the wisdom of our founding fathers.

"Oh McChurch; You've Done it Again!"

The Church of Jesus Christ has lost its theology of sin...If McChurch were to preach the Gospel, there would be no issue with "sins," as we all are infected...The issue of OPS (other people's sins) comes to the forefront when we have glossed over our own...This is almost too elemental to mention...

Homosexuality and abortion, being closet sins among Evangelicals, become attractive targets because of the illusion that they are rampant outside the church...Notice that divorce or TV addiction fly beneath the radar these days...That is because the church is infected with both to the same degree as is the rest of our culture...

If anyone wants to find homosexuality in the church, you need go no further than the Gospel music industry (an oxymoron of infinite proportions)..."Rife" would not be too strong a word...

While McChurch is in denial about its own sin, it focuses on the sins of those outside the church...This follows a pattern of church culture - from legalism, to self-righteousness, to liberalism...

You might be inclined to protest at this point by saying that the evangelical church is not liberal but that it has "merged" with the Republican Party...My response would be, "How much more liberal could the church become than to replace the Gospel with a political ideology?"

I speak from training and experience - an evangelical theologian and pastor who has been elected three times to public office, both as a Republican and a Democrat...

I have been around long enough to know that McChurch is a self-imposed ghetto culture that finds its security, not in the Christ of the Gospel, but in its own reinforcement, the latest of which is numbers of attendees...

A little-discussed Christian principle is ignored: "If they are all going in that direction, it has to be wrong!" Remember that old message, "Broad is the way that leads to destruction/narrow is the way that leads to life?"

Get off the "God Bless America" kick and get onto the dynamic presence of the Kingdom of God in the life of the believer and the community of the redeemed...

(Dr.Stan Moody, an evangelical Baptist minister and founder of the Christian Policy Institute, has served in the Maine House of Representatives as both a Republican and a Democrat. Dr. Moody is the author of several provocative books, including, "Crisis in Evangelical Scholarship" and "McChurched: 300 Million Served and Still Hungry." Pastor of a rural country church in Central Maine, Moody has enjoyed a long and productive career in small business development and management.)
