So True

What your are saying makes sense Dave. God made us Stewards of the earth, not pillagers. While human needs have to come before the idea of total preservation, and while there needs to be a free market and freedom to use your own land, there is every reason for people and government to do a better job with the land. It should not be a question of never touching the land verses destroying it. Eden was a garden, not a wilderness area (we do need some of those too). People need to be discipled and trained to have an aesthetic appreciation for land and the uses of land. Balance in this area is difficult for many, but we all benefit from avoiding the pair of vices on either side of the wisdom of wise stewardship.

Thoughts on "So True"

Hey, Donald:

Thanks for the benefit of your wisdom. I believe this is an area ripe for some major thought and scholarship among evangelicals in order to get at a clear and more detailed view (as well as application) of our position. As you reemphasized, we're constantly treated to one extreme view or the other in the media and culture. For lack of a better metaphor, we need some healthier, (buzz word alert!) truly sustainable middle ground!
