Letter to a Local Newspaper Writer (K Bender)

Hi - I just found your blog - thanks for the mention. Sounds like the no-food, food thing was Tuesday. I was there Wednesday when I counted 8 anti-Marine protesters and 12 pro-Marine. I haven't heard any reports from Thursday, maybe nobody showed up. Friday should be fascinating - World Can't Wait takes over Fridays and I suspect the police will have to get a lot more involved in keeping the two groups apart, although I've seen pro-Marine high school kids out there on prior Fridays and they were holding their own. I was very, very impressed with the pro-Marine students!

...but I said Tuesday anyway. Guess I wanted to be sure you got credit, and to direct Kristin Bender to your site. Wednesday had more Marine veterans, too.

The person you didn't recognize (due to lack of pink regalia) is PhOeBe SoRgEn, a member of the Berkeley Peace & Justice Comission and low ranked Code Pinky whose name is on the ballot initiative stuff. (I'm unsure about the capitalization of her name...)

She's important to CP at the moment. I think its because she's their top ranking Berkeley resident. Most of the people associated with the local CP live elsewhere
