Global warming at The Procrustean

I disagree. It's not well said, but what he's hinting at is true. Global warming is a scientific phenomenon that may or may not be true (I'm not a scientist, so don't ask me).

What he should have said is:

"The whole point of modern environmentalists, is not saving the planet, but providing excuse for economic and social changes that transfer power and prestige."

That "modern environmentalist" who draws on the uncertainties of global warming is not working with a "scientific phenomenon", but a political energy.

And the proof is that, any "modern environmentalist" who points to the scientific uncertainties, robbing global warming of its political power, is denounced with political rather than scientific arguments.

It's only in this sense that "global warming" has a point. It is not a phenomenon (which has no point); it is an argument.
