He hasn't been convicted, and the court shouldn't remove an elected official because he is unpopular.

This is an attempt by Illinois Democrats to avoid an impeachment trial of Blagojevich. If the Court removes him for them, they will side-step an impeachment hearing in which witnesses will be called upon to testify.

Testimony would air out dirty laundry.

That is the LAST thing they want.

With a Court ordered removal, they can keep a lid on what they don't want us to know about who all else is involved with Blago's corruption.

The rats in Springfield and Chicago have no stomach for initiating an impeachment hearing.
