As long as Politicians, Rep.& Dem., need to
protect their interests (continuing to stay in office) they will depend on the money trees to keep them in power. Forget about the Fair Tax, because they don't want to be deprived of their wheeling and dealing. Forget about our leaders in congress voting their conscience/convictions, because they have to appease their benefactors and water the money tree. What is the solution? Simply, only permit a four year term. That won't stop the cash flow,' prior' to their start, unless we pass a law that donations can't be paid period. Only allow Government funds to be alloted, equally to those involved.

You nailed it in one, Vicky. Want to see bombast in full bloom? Propose limiting terms, or the money that can be contributed. No one can argue with any honest logic that those propositions are a denial of the first amendment as neither of those prohibit the affected individuals from speaking their mind. Owning a politician or allowing a politician to sell their vote is not a right in any part of the US Constitution.
