The Benevolent Dictator's Agenda

Agreed 100%

Keep up the good work! You are not alone and your voice is heard.

I too am getting frustrated but let's just hope that someone will see and hear this and do something about it!

Please read my blogs.

I am a woman and am so tired of this feeling of desperation that we are in a sinking ship and there are no life preservers on the boat!

Thank you!!

Beaufert is beautiful

wilderness, ma'am, and in the farthest corner of our neighboring state. I'll be at Hilton Head next month.

In the nearer future, I'll be at the nation's capitol next week as part of the 912 Project, speaking as you do of Tea Parties.

In the nearest future, this weekend I'll golf as part of the Patriot Project to honor and give golf to wounded warriors and their families. I know that would be close to you and yours.

Sorry, DrPete, no can do

I already took the job as Regis Eternum. Remember?

Fun essay. The one nit I'd pick is the call for a Constitutional Convention. Even though the convening document calls for a specific and limited agenda, once in session the delegates can broaden the scope of their attention, as happened when the original ConCon was held to amend the Articles of Confederation to address some shortcomings in that document. Literally anything and everything would be on the table, and who knows what would emerge from the other end.

BrianR

What you say about a const. conv. is true, but the proposals generated still have to be ratified and they have to be compatible and conform to "this Constitution" to be legal. A Con-con could not re-write the Constitution and then implement it like the founders did. That was, actually, not an Art. Five Convention, and they were not yet bound by the current C.

I am for a Con-con NOW!!

Good points, though, Your royal RE.

Glenn

drpete

A civil war already, between you and Brian?

To Your Corners!!

Oh, well. Never mind.

Glenn

We know, Glenn, that BrianR is in the

LEFT corner (i.e., California) while I'm slightly out of my RIGHT (east) corner here in Tennessee. And he may have the crown and scepter, but I'll have the storm troops.

As to the ConCon, remember that it'll happen while I'm BD, so not to worry.

Actually, Glen, not so

That was the rationale about the Articles of Confederation, too, but lo and behold! A whole new Constitution that didn't resemble the Articles of Confederation in any way.

Yeah, it would certainly have to be ratified. That's why we ended up with the Bill of Rights: to secure ratification. That was also why we saw the publication of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers.

But the bottom line is that there's no restricting its scope once a ConCon meets.

LOL, DrPete

You may have the storm troops, but wait til they hit LotusLand!

My front-line troops are the Blonde Bombshells in Bikinis Brigade, armed with icy shakers of appletinis and tequila shooters.

They haven't lost a battle yet.

How's 'bout, BrianR, we team up, you as

RE and I as BD. I'll get my troops to guard your Blonde Bombshell Bikini Babes Brigade with the shakers. I'll get up early and run the country 'til cocktail hour (three hours earlier here than where you are). Then, you can run the country while I partake of the contents . . . of the shakers.

I've got Walter Williams here in my time zone and you have Thomas Sowell there in yours, so we'll both get good advising.

Amazing funny banter about the imminent demise of our country. Who-da thunk?

Not a bad plan

It makes to much sense to implement. We can all dream. I would be happy to see one thing you suggest be implemented like the fair tax.

Such cannot and will not be

implemented, Patrick, UNLESS I am made BD. The country will fail, fall, and become a dictatorship, regardless. The question is whether you get a Chavez or you get me . . . for 2 1/2 years.

I Want To Be In Charge of Energy!

Two things, DrPete:

1. I want to be charge of the energy policy. I guarantee complete energy independence in four years or less. (Look for more drilling, more nuclear power, and intelligent decisions from some one who has been in utilities for over 30 years and is a professional engineer.)

2. No federal lands shall be sold to anyone other than US citizens.

Hahahaha!

I do believe we've hit on a solution: a co-monarchy!

Yeah, it's pretty funny how dark humor can set in when things get grim.

You Are Correct, BrianR

It is a humor similar to that of the 300 Spartans, when told that the number of Persian arrows would blot out the sun.

Their reply? Great, we get to fight in the shade.

Dear Benevolent Dictator,

Your essay is a template for disaster! A disaster for career politicians and centralized federal power.

@ Brian

“My front-line troops are the Blonde Bombshells in Bikinis Brigade, armed with icy shakers of appletinis and tequila shooters.”

As a retired military officer, I feel duty bound to volunteer my leadership skills to the B3 Brigade. At your service…

Ghost, ITK

Hahahahaha, guys!

Yeah, Ghost, but let's hope for a better outcome THIS time!

ITK, Tim, good to see you, stranger!

It's truly weird how many former officers volunteer for that same duty.

I wonder why?....

My vote

Is yours for the taking. If that moronic quasi-RINO-democrat party runs another RINO, you get my vote unless Crawfish is running.

Thanks, Gar Swaffer, for even the

conditional VOTE for BD behind Crawfish. And, of course, there's BrianR as ER.

I assume that you mean a "vote of confidence" and support, since of course there won't be balloting.

Yeah.....

What's with all this "voting" stuff?

Voting? We don' need no steenkin' voting!

back at you

You are much more specific than my post. Still, good post.

And this king could take over

using what you have proposed with what i propse in mine.

Good stuff, Pete.
