Chicago Potholes: Do they really think about their constituents/citizens or their pride?

Car Damage due to Pothole Neglect

I sent a correctly filled out complaint to IDOT on March 27, 2008 with pictures of the pothole which did over $600 damage to my vehicle. Six months later I have received a response denying my claim that my car damage was not due to their neglect as they have maintained the roads all winter season long. What a crock!! The particular road I was on was the notorious Willow Springs Road in Willow Springs and it has been an obstacle course with no pothole repair done to it all winter season long. I am doubly mad about this denial as no one had the decency to put their name on the letter nor sign it. It just was typed "Region One Claims Committee". I would like to know where I can go next to try to obtain my money back as this is unacceptable information. Maybe a Class Action Suit should be in the works to try to "stir up" this agency.
If you are interested in possibly pursuing this action, please contact me. The American people have had enough of these government agencies playing with our monies. Where does IDOT's money go? Obviously, it does not pay claims!

Pothole Solutions

Diane:

I think you should contact a supervisor to track down the person who signed your decision. After this is done, litigation can possibly be an avenue to pursue. Try to exhaust the administrative review process.
