What's YOUR TIME Worth?

P.S. Elected Officials

Visit my previous post -- A Little (Very Little) Fun VIII. I have my doubts that you elected officials in D.C. can create a coherent sentence out of even one of the group of words.

Sarcasm? Yes. Deserved? IMO, Yes!

Mrs Al

Very attention grabbing!!

Great words and Stinging dialouge.

Babysitting is a great word for our government and the policies they create in their cribs.

Nice Post!!!

Cribs

Good one, Jason. Didn't think of it that way. It does indeed seem ironic that these ... people ... in D.C. who are so smug and condescending are the very ones who are acting infantile in their understanding of base concepts relative to our Constitutional Republic.

Thanx for your spot on comments, Jason.

Mrs. AL

I have been swamped with work. Projects in Port Gibson, Moorhead, Oxford, Yazoo City, and Clarksdale, MS. I even got two more small projects in the last 3 days. I have never had this much work. Never.

I didn't even mention my solar project in Missisippi and Louisiana. I am also in the process of getting my PE license in Louisiana. (I already have a PE license in Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama.)

You are correct about the time required to deal with the feds. And two of the above jobs are helping companies deal with the feds.

Federal bureaucrats never understand that when companies have to deal with the federal government it costs time and money. All the bureaucrat has to worry about is "proving" his job is necessary. Therefore bureaucrats constantly make up more things for non-bureaucrats to do and that they (the bureaucrats) can keep track of.

I agree!!!!!!!

Furthermore, WE have to read and decide on what's available and important. These nidiots write 1000+ page bills, mostly put together/written by aides and lobbyists, then don't even bother to read what's in there before voting it into law. They just trust that the huddled masses will pay, but they won't have to.

Thanks for outlining the truth, but they can't handle the truth.

Mrs AL

You are right, everyone's time is more valuable than yours. I have written and called politicians and have never even got an acknowledgement. In other words, there time is more valuable than to address a question or concern from a mere mortal like myself. So it should not shock anyone they have no problem wasting our time with bad legislation.

damn

Tell us how you really feel haha. The libs whether they be democrat or republican have an older woman who's never had kids but really wanted them syndrome. That's OWWNHKBRWTS to the layperson. Since they don't have children to mother, they buy cats. Lots of cats. That's how the libs see the populace. We're helpless kittens that need their attention, except us kittens are paying them for caring for us. I'm strengthening my claws on my scratching post so I can claw their eyes out. Meow.

Quit Your Day Job!

Gray Ghost, it’s you and people like you that should be in charge in D.C. You understand what’s happening and how things work. Your post on my previous blogposting proves you can put together a coherent sentence from a group of four words (not that it was ever in doubt!!).

You sure sound busy and I am grateful you took the time to come by, Gray Ghost. May you continue to get projects and spend minimal time dealing with the b’cats. It’s a pain.

Take care.

Right On, Mrs. AL!

The koolaid drinking masses cannot always take the time to be aware of what CONgress is up to and that is exactly what our elected reps/senators depend on in order to do their dirty deeds! Things are happening way too fast for so many people who have families, jobs, and lives. Often, they get caught unaware and wonder "WTH". It is the number one reason prez is in office right now! Not many were paying attention and they wanted "chains".

I did visit your previous blog, Mrs. AL, but I was having a very hard time building sentences after so many other creative entries! If you can give me until next week, I may be able to string a couple thoughts together! Excellent blog, Mrs. AL!

MD/MG

Nidiots. I love it! Amazing to me that we the people can innocently misread a line, overlook one little detail and all heck breaks loose and we get the fuzzy end of the sucker. These … people don’t even try and read the stuff they are voting on.

Is there a court somewhere we can get justice for abhorrent dumb?

Thanx for stopping by!

Patrick

How right you are and it’s unfortunate so many of us share the same ‘cold shoulder’ from those who are supposed to REPRESENT us, NOT RULE OVER US!

I will be in touch soon and thanx so much for stopping by and reading my little “blow off steam” piece.

Jesse

As a conservative woman who always wanted kids but was never blessed, I very much appreciate your analogy! I am not about to “mother” anyone. Unlike liberal leftists, I can usually differentiate between the “personal” v. “public” policy.

As for telling ya’ll how I REALLY feel, well I will digress and take a cue from the liberal leftists and blame mentalpause – haha! Meeeeow.

Thanx for coming by, Jesse!

Dawn

Take all the time you want relative to the previous blog. Just proves you have infinitely more brain cells than most of those elected … people … in D.C.

“Things are happening way too fast for so many people who have families, jobs, and lives.” Most astute statement you made! Most of us are just trying to get our own houses in order. While we have a basic “oversight” responsibility, as Jason intimated we should not have to be babysitters!

Thanx for stopping by, Dawn.

Mrs AL

I really like your blog - great topics and you make your points crystal clear!

An Educated Voter...

...is the archenemy of tyranny. Hence the government desire to run schools.

I put a post up on my blog partially answering your question about my biography.

Hey, Mrs. AL, on those pesky

critters you havta get outa yo house, call FEMA. Back atcha.

fetchingjen

Thanx for coming by and the compliment. I’m not nearly as good at this blogging thing as most others I have met, including you, but I give it a shot. The beauty here at TH is that any regular person can participate.

I will be heading your direction soon and look forward to further acquainting myself with your writing.

Arturick

From your post comment to … it would be great if voters were more educated outside the re-education system.

I will be getting that direction shortly to read your post. I know it will be most telling.

Thanx for stopping by and see ya’ soon.

DrPete

What a hoot! Thanx so very much for the counter-advise, DrPete. I can count on you for pithy and sharp. Suppose FEMA could help with the illegal alien invasion? Never mind …

Thanx for coming by and you know your place is on my list (geez, that doesn’t sound like a threat does it?).

WOW!

Mrs. AL sharpens her claws on the Liberal Micro Managers! I LOVE IT! LMAO!

Re What's your time worth?

Bravo!!! excellent post! Everyone in congress needs to read this!!!

perfect!

razor sharp and to the point!! WELL written Mrs AL! We still have a lot of work to do untill 2010 and then on to 2012--the battle is FAR from over-victory is on the horison--and it is gonna be a heliva fight!!!

Georgetwin

Thanx for your compliment. I am appreciative. Clearly these … people … have pushed one step too far for the likes of me.

I will be heading your way as soon as I can and thanx for popping in!

Kev

Gee whiz, I am blushing now. Thanx for your most kind words. I think if members of the elected in D.C. read this, I would be further classified as an extreme RWE – haha.

Thanx for stopping in and I will be visiting soon!

Pen Captain

You are most kind and my thanx to you. Yes, it’s going to be a heck of a fight. What I am in the process of doing is ‘counting the cost’ of the various levels of involvement before me.

Your visit is appreciated and I will soon be coming by to see what you have penned. (ok, that was lame)

Mrs. AL (Always Learning)

Brutal and Hard Hitting.

Loved it.

But Dont You Understand?

WE'RE SAVING THE PLANET! You dont want the planet to die, now do you? We understand you're mad and we feel your pain. Oh BTW we've decided that that insect-ridden trap that you live in would fetch more tax money if we sold it to a strip-mall developer which will save us the trouble of taking you to court for animal abuse--you've been spraying those bugs again. You know they're your fellow planetary citizens. Please come and shop at the new strip mall any time its open.
Thanx,

The Government

Mrs. Al

I think many of the people here who comment, including yourself, could take the positions in government, while the governors would fail at your positions. Heck, I believe many here know more about politics and/or the constitution, while listening to others, than do those on the hill. Amazing that they've forgotten about us regular American citizens, who it seems could lead better than those elected.

Great post. You hit the nail on the head.

Spooky Indeed

Truthfully, I did borrow the concept of people's time being an limited asset of their freedom, to which they are solely entitled. But I borrowed the notion from Mark Levin who may have found it in older texts (or may not have, in his own profound understanding).

Glad to see other great minds exist. You're exactly right, Washington doesn't listen except to populism. The Constitution matters to them insofar as it propels their own agenda. Insofar as it does not, they manipulate it or simply ignore it.

Mrs. AL

Ditto the choir. Your frustration is shared by all.

GunnyG

Glad you liked it. But gee whiz, “brutal”? This is nothing, IMHO, compared to what those … people … are doing to our country.

Thanx for having a read and I noticed you have several new ‘brutal’ posts up yourself.

Skep

That is good. Your answer to my post is very close to what I would expect from my Senators or Rep. Boy do you have them pegged! Well, gotta’ run and get the bug spray!

Thanx for having a look-see and I will be heading your direction as soon as I can (that’s not a threat, Skep – lol)

Eric

I agree with you whole heartedly, and have zero doubt that there are many here at TH who could and maybe, should be in D.C. What’s so dog gone maddening is that the very people who should be there are kept out by a “good ol’ politician’ network that makes it impossible for ya’ll to run. Grrrrr.

Thanx for popping in and I will be getting to your part of the TH blogosphere soon.

Joseph

Hey, welcome to Our Posterity. I also appreciated Glenn’s recco of your blog. I am enjoying it very much!

“If I could save time in a bottle …” Sorry, just had to throw that in there.

As for D.C., they not only don’t listen but when I write my Senators and Rep all I get in return are form letters that (90% of the time) never address what I wrote. It’s getting to the point that I may have to make an in-person appointment to get their attention. Yea, like they will talk with a Citizen who has an inkling, right? Sorry Joseph, my sarcasm spigot got turned on and I can’t seem to get it turned off.

Thanx for your visit and I will be back in the very near future!

ITN

You are kind and I am grateful. Say, maybe we should come up with some kind of theme-song for this choir. Any ideas?

Thanx so much for stopping by and your corner of the blogosphere is in sight. See ya’ soon!

Theme song

Send in the Clowns...cue Judy Collins

We must have the same senators. I get the same form-type letters EXCEPT when sen durbin [spit] ends his letter he always invites me to coffee at his DC ofc. if I'm ever there. I'm sure I'm paying for that, too.

Budget

First off, these pumpkin heads in Washington have no clue what a "budget" is nor how to manage any time.

This is so out of hand. It really is. And those people have no clue. Stop with your agendas and actually listen to the American people.

And why do we have to pass everything in five seconds?

And just and fyi, gas has gone up $0.35 in the last two weeks in my area in CA. Super. Deja Vu.

And where is my stimulus check? Ugh! :)

P.S.

Can you please tell me what nitwit came up with the idea of the VAT? Really, was this created in a drunken stooper or what?

MD/MG

Send in the Clowns is perfect for those … people … in D.C.! That will be rattling around in my head all day – haha. Now what about a theme song for those who have posted in this thread? Ya’ll are soooo much more astute. If we were to form a choir, what would be our theme song?

We aren’t from the same State, but clearly we have the same type of Senators. Good grief, I can’t believe you get invited to coffee! How do you manage that? Guess you are probably more diplomatic in your approach. All I get is some lame, ‘keep me informed about your views’ drivel.

Thanx for your comments and as always, I will be watching for your comments!

Sue

Ok, so gas is up $0.35 in two weeks and the gas bags in your State Capitol don’t take a pay cut and want to maintain the same level of spending. Hmmmm … However comma I can’t say that we in VA aren’t heading in the exact same direction. My State Senator and Delegate are becoming unresponsive because I am asking totally logical and pointed questions. So don’t feel alone out there, Sue, we aren’t far behind, IMO. (No, the tone and tenor of my letters aren’t like the one in this post … close sometimes lol)

As for VAT … given my more advanced age I remember this idea being floated yeeeears ago. And the same people that were in a drunken stooper then are still in office today. Guess eventually a VAT is needed to hold all the booz these … people … consume. (Drat, I just can’t seem to get that sarcasm spigot turned off, sorry)

Thanx for coming by and I will be strolling by soon to see what’s up at your place. Hope at least some include your commentary.

I get invited

to the 'coffee' at his ofc. because it's a tag line on his form letter. A way to make him appear accesible.

Blog choir theme song? Hmmmm, I'm thinking. [smoke, burning smell, creaking sounds, smoke]

That may have to be your next ALF blog.

MD/MG -- ALF

Well now ... invited to coffee is part of a form letter. Couldn't you just spit? What a bunch of whoha.

You know what, I think you ought to send me a post for the ALF series ... you're good! If you want to, just drop me a note at vacit2000@fastmail.fm and put ALF in the subject line (I delete emails if I don't know the author).

Eloquent

You never cease to amaze me. I can remember few expressions so defining in scope and so deep in concept. You truly deserve the title Mrs.AT (Always Teaching)
You are the stuff! Thank you for insight.

Jim

Truly, you are too kind. However comma I am grateful for the encouragement.

I will be headed your direction soon, Jim. Take care.

very good!

The groundswell of the tea parties is growing into atitle wave. The nitwits in Washington are still thinking we are bying all the crap the lamestream media is hashing----OH really?? well put Mrs AL!!!

Shadow95

Howdy and welcome to Our Posterity. Don't recall seeing you here before.

Thanx for your kind words. It is amazing that there are sooooo many folks who are really getting angry about what is going on. Personallly, I have had my belly full. Let's Tea Party until we drop!

Mrs AL

you post GRABS and does not let GO! The bozos in Washington may not be listening to us but they will see who we vote for!!weather they like it or not it is STILL WE the PEOPLE!!

and

our lives!!you hit the socialist nail on the head Mrs AL--"big brother" was not satisfied with autos-he wants all heath care!!

Watch Dawg

Amen to that, it IS still “We the People …” whether anyone is D.C. likes it or not. And the Declaration of Independence needs to be put in their faces to remind them of what this country is all about.

Thanx so much for visiting. I will be heading your direction as soon as I can!

Crossbow

Thanx for stopping by Our Posterity. Good to “see you.” You are so right about “big brother.” Great observation!

As for health care, given what the Supreme Court did (or failed to do) relative to the sale of Chrysler, I don’t the Constitution getting any support from the supposed judicial system – evidently, they can’t even read it.

I’ll be visiting at my first opportunity and thanx again for stopping by!

Crossbow

ooops, should read, ' I don’t SEE the Constitution ...'

Mrs AL

You are very welcome--I have comments on several of your wonderful fellow conservative blogs here-crawfish swamp and snow knight for examples. I regularly comment on the HUF n PUFFington post--keeps them thinking you know!!!

Shadow95

Say, have you considered putting up a blog here to relate some of your experiences at the HufPost? I have read a couple interactions between folks here and at the HPost and they were enlightening.

Oh, Oh

I amy have a theme song for our bloggers, but it may be wayyy too obscure. Let's see if anyone can pull this one out of the vast regions of the archives.

Kingston Trio [remember them?]

Song of the WCTU

It may work if everyone isn't scratching their heads going, Huh?

MD/MG - WCTU

Help! Kingston Trio I remember. Two songs I recall are "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "It Takes a Worried Man." Oh, didn't they also do "Lemon Tree"?

Now WCTU = Women's Christian Temperence Union to me.

Help ...

I think they spend too much time there..

I think the founders were right to want "amateur" leaders in charge. Though they paid them way back when, the expectation was that they work on their own, too. This is why they still have all those breaks.

VDad

Excellent observation! Maybe I should draft a letter to send my three ... people ... in D.C. reminding them of the intent back then!! I might be able to work that up into a nice little letter.

Thanx for stopping by. Thanx for the idea and I will be heading to your corner of the universe soon!

Yipeee!

Hey, did you hear our Gov wants to shut us down. That is right, no borrowing to pay the bills, just turn the lights off and go.

Our gas continues to climb. We are over $3.00 per gallon at many stations in our area. I am sure our senator, Feinstein and Boxer will be on it. Just making myself laugh!

Our state legislators are saying that we will have a budget by July 1. Okay, they did not say 2009, who knows. Gosh, we are sad!!!

Thats it

Save the Constitution, save our Republic....doesn't get much clearer!

Sue

I am constantly amazed at what happens there in CA. What I want to know is how do you manage to keep your wit flowing and how do you keep your wits about you when all this is happening around you?

I do admire your intestinal fortitude, Sue. Thanx for the heads up on the issues of the day and I will be heading over to your place very soon to partake of some of your witticism from the land of … well, not sure what to call CA these days.

Davecat

Thanx for stopping by, Dave, and I appreciate your comment very much.

If there is one thing I think most of us can agree on, is that wresting power from D.C. is the order of the day. Period. We can scrap about other issues within our own states.

I will be stopping by your place as soon as possible to see what you have going on there.

Mrs. Al (Always Learning)

Nice to know that CA is the big Titanic and we are going down. Yeah!

I am not sure anymore how I am surviving. Our gas is going up. And all food prices are going up again.

Our state is broke, our country is broke, but wait....Obama is loved by all and popular. Well, I guess things are good. Yikes!

Sue

Yea and all that "love" is going to do us in if we aren't careful, eh?
