Are there Character Issues, and Do They Matter?

I enjoyed reading your post, although the whole idea of "character attack" is frustrating to me. If you find quarter with people of certain BELIEFS and BELIEF SYSTEMS, and they like you enough to host parties for you (fundraisers or not) or offer you special real estate deals...doesn't that speak to your share belief systems? In that manner, exploring and examining someone's associations is NOT a character "attack" at all. Just calling it that puts a wall between the people and the truth that should not be there. Obama has not fully explained these associations - HE is the one who has brushed away what few questions and examinations have been made with weak responses such as "Ayers was a guy in my neighborhood"...or in the case of his Rezko deal "perhaps that was a bad decision" (or something like that.
In the case of his Jeremiah Wright and the Trinity Church, it is not just the outrageous statements of Wright that should be examined, but the entire ideology of Black Liberation theology. I know people's eyes glaze over at all this, but it is too important not to understand what this stands for.
So I ask, is this a character examination? Yes, to an extent. I would like to frame it as an examination of Obama's belief system. The one he is doing his best to mask from his supporters, who cannot understand that his "for the people" campaign is going to turn into a "from the people" administration.

Thanks for your thoughts. I agree. Obama is no empty suit. His suit is made with the substance of Economic Socialism, Liberation Theology, and Racial Separatism, if we are to believe his words and deeds prior to candidacy. Its fascinating to me that the self-evidence of these statements has yet to be understood by a plurality of voters.

There is a reason he is going out of his way to hide his past, because his whole life has been an immersion in radical socialist circles. now he employs the Saul Alinsjy method of deception and denail to get elected and then implelent his agenda. Frighteningly the stage has been set as the foundations for socialism have been prepared for him. Now with this unconstitutional bailout the precedent for more nationalization has been set.
People could learn a lot from history. Hitler was popularly elected and pretty much ran on the same promise of "hope and change" with the German economy sliding and fear tactics employed. Now Obama's minions at ACORN are going to continue to perpetrate voter fraud on an unprecedented scale - and I bet they'll get away with it because the only ones acknowledging it are us, talk radio and FOX.

Hi, Randy! Very insightful post! Truly believe that McCain-Palin need to attack Obama where it hurts because the boy can`t take it! He has no real character, it has always been about him. He is quick to lose those who drag him down, as opposed to someone like George Bush, who may take his loyalty too far. IMHO, Obama is a fraud and a phony. Hopefully, the American electorate will agree on November 4.
