The Next Three Months: McCain's Biggest Opportunity

He Lost Already

There is no discernible difference between him and the other two Democrats.

So we may as well have a woman or a black in the office to say we did it.

Or maybe I will just write in my guy as a way to express myself.

The two party system has not listened to me anyway.

Absolutely Outstanding Column

GenXDad: Your column is a brilliant one, maybe the best one I've seen in a long time. I'm going to reprint it on my blog, perhaps tomorrow, perhaps this weekend. In the comments section on my blog, I've suggested that people who used to listen to Limbaugh, Hewitt, and Ingraham should instead go to your site for information and insight. You're very good, and you keep getting better!

I agree with 2 of the 3 things but

McCain has already "won" the "base". That was the problem for Romney...for all the money and the Talk Show Mafia, the BASE of the Republican party voted for McCain NOT Romney.

In McCain's 100 plus town meetings, delegate after delegate said they didn't like what McCain had to say...and some got angry at his answers to some hard hitting questions, but they were going to vote for him anyway.

Why? Because they know we are a nation at war and right now they NEED to believe what their leader tells them.

Reagan used to weave dreams of what was possible. Bush wanted to know how to make the possible happen.

McCain has been telling people the hard realities...but there is comfort in knowing exactly what has to be done and facing the bad news.

Right now, McCain's appeal is in his rock solid ability to stand against everyone if need be. He cannot be seen trying to make friends with those that have called him everything in the book.

I think McCain should wait for them to come to him. By all means be generous, but they need to know that only one man will have his finger on the button and one man will be CIC.

The TSM WILL come around--or they will cease to be relevant.

I know this sounds harsh, but GenX...Steve...Pink Flamingo...Andy...do you all want to spend the next 4 years defending McCain?

I sure don't. So it ends here and now. Either support the people's choice or take their fanatical conservatism and create their own party where they get to tell people what to think, how to run the government, and just who meets the criteria of conservatism.

The next four years...

If I could spend the next four years defending President McCain against his critics, I'd consider it an honor and a blessing.

The alternative makes me scared for my children.
