Inherit The Wind
Yeah, cause that's why the Republican's lost this election!

Hi Scooternyc
Hope you don't mind me dropping by your place. I was interested in your opinions because you are an honest poster at TH.
You are exactly right about why Republicans lost the election. I really think most politicians are there for what they can get out of it, not for public service. They are frustrating at best and extremely dangerous at worst. I see no one on the horizon that I could feel positive about when it comes to leading our nation in these hard times.
Maybe being an only child has made me so unable to abide silly arguments about things that are just symtoms of the problems we face as a nation. I am always looking for what really is the cause of those problems. Mostly I find that whether people are debating the Constitution, The Bible, some sort of statistical information or whatever, that the information winds up twisted to fit whatever the debater's opinion is. So while I value knowledge and information I don't try to keep all the facts and figures in my head. My debate is often based on what I consider to be common sense. Maybe we think too deep sometimes, when the best solutions are in plain sight.
When it comes to the so-called religious right in this country I see many that do not display words and actions that are consistant with being a follower of Christ. Of course ones religion doesn't necessarily have anything to do with belief in God. Human beings in every walk of life have their own agendas and are not above using whatever means possible to attain their goals.
I know that feeling something is right is not enough and has no substance if the feeling isn't caused by a genuine and thourough knowledge of the subject at hand.
Well since I haven't had any epiphanys (sp) lately, then I will just hush for now.
Again have a very Merry Christmas and I wish you a very prosporous and Happy New Year.
