Victory Outreach made me look like I was reaching out for free food

I've been in, not exactly, that same situation before. I was in the USAF in 71 and a friend asked if I wanted to go home with him over the weekend. We were in Rantoul, Illinois, and he was from Chicago, Evanston, actually.

So, I went. His parents lived in a very nice, large home, in a nice area. They were all very "proper". Me, just a Kansas field hand.

We went to the Old Town Theatre where he had been a lighting gaff for years. Nice play. He then drove to one of the actor's houses where they usually met after the play for late dinner.

Well, there were a few(6) people but no party. And his friends weren't there. But he stayed. And stayed. Then one of the women asked us if she could make us a sandwich or...

She did, and he stayed. Why? I don't know. I felt like a hobo who had come begging at the door, "Spare a bit of food, please?"

I felt better at his parent's because of that, though.

I never went to Robert's anymore.

Nice story.

Thank you for your service! Freedom isn't free.

You know, I have to say that when I saw that I had a comment, I fretted about it being a nasty comment, for I usually get those on a daily basis. But then I figured, it's probably just a spammer. But instead, it was from you and it was nice. I appreciate you taking the time to read what I wrote and then to share something from your own life. You really made my day, Glenn.

I am truly thankful today that I made the decision to get my blog going here at Townhall.com; where I am among friends:)My good friend, Eric, suggested it just as I was checking out my options. Perfect timing my God has:)

I am always interested in new people and their viewpoints. Like you, I am always a bit leary when I first click a new name. But finding new bloggers who are God's children makes all the rotten finds worthwhile.

Your verbal sparring session with Al sounds a lot like the speach Rush Limbaugh gave Sunday night to a liberal group of very rich business owners. He mentioned the economy being better under G. Bush and they laughed. He then listed all the stats proving what he said and there was mild applause.

He then told them he was honest and has a 99.2% record of being correct, and they laughed. He then read them a Brookings Institute Quarterly Report and told them they issue one on him every quarter for almost ten years and his average was 99.2% correct, loud applause.

He then started in on Obama, how he meant it and what he meant when he said he hopes Obama fails, major applause.

He then taught them the truth of conservatism, that it is the ONLY valid theory of government that exists in the USA, and why, and they were on their feet.

He said they didn't ever expect to hear something like that when they came.

Conservatism always prevails when taught and applied in the purist form.

Hope you stick around, along time.
God bless you and me, and America.
