At one point Yosemite Sam whacked Bugs Bunny and Bugs replied, "Of course you know, This Means WAR!"
McCain will hit back and they'll hit him back. This is like a prizefight that turns violent from the first minute of the first round; its going to be a tough fight.

listen, you said in
your last post that gustav had, at least, spared us one day of a political convention. i heartily agree! but watching this one isn't nearly as grating as the last one, so... actually, i thought last night was pretty good, too. poor lieberman, i heard one pundit noting that if mccain doesn't win, his political career is over, having become this kind of strange hybrid...

I think you correctly assess the importance of tonights speech by Palin. So far, from a poll standpoint, the most one can conclude is that her selection didn't drop McCain as far a Biden's did Obama. Tonight is very important for the GOP.

The polls mean nothing. This is the beginning of the campaign. This is not going to be the romp the Dems thought. McCain has shown that he's not going to sit back and wait for the Dems to hit him.

What did Sarah Palin have to say in response to the attacks by the left?
"Bring it on. I can take anything they can offer and more."
What a gutsy, confident attitude she has. I am sincerely elated she is on our team.
The left has really stepped in it this time. McCain is a gentleman with a short fuse and a huge bang. Sarah just serves to shape the charge and focus the blast. McCain is no sissy and the left has lit his fuse.
Stand back, GOP mavericks in combat!!
Great, inspiring post. Thanks for the boost!

Two weeks
look at the polls in two weeks, that's how long it'll take to get the feelings to percolate up into mainstream voters minds. Word of mouth is everything, and people have to mull it over. And I've got to believe they can't be looking favorably towards the Dems after all this. I guess we'll see. Good post Skep.

Palin delivered a very good speech last night. There wasn't much substance to it but it is a convention speech, not a stump speech.
I usually take polls with a huge grain of salt. Polling is a tool but it is about as accurate as the Super Doppler 10 day forecast. Day one, maybe. Day two, forgetabouit.
