Yes, these people have mastered the art of snaring their oposition. If we get attacked on American soil again, she has her toldyasoze ready. If we don't, she can squeal "quagmire" till the cows drop dead from boredom.

Sara! You stole my comment! That's what I would have written. But there really is a certain sort of diabolical beauty to their methods (not their message, of course). Sort of like a checkmate in chess ... you're not dead, but no matter which way you move, you will be dead.

How come our side can't figure out stuff like this? Could it be that we're not completely obssessed with politics as a life-consuming passion? Could it be that people on our side are consumed with trying to make an ethical living in an non-ethical marketplace? Trying to raise good kids in a cultural cesspool of rap and bare bellies? Trying to stay good ourselves when we're never more than a click away from self indulgence in gambling, porn, and drugs?

Repubs (as opposed to Rebs) seem to be reluctant leaders. Uncomfortable when they're on point. I sensed a collective sigh of relief when the Repubs lost the elections ... "Thank GOD we're back in the minority, where we can get on with our real lives." Your fate, O Repubs, is to be always the little cornered anklebiters, perpetually outmanoeuvered by the Dems. Problem is, you sink US with yourselves, since they will tax us till we're depleted.
