National Tea Party April 15th

Great link, Sarge

I've seen some of his other videos, and he does a fantastic job. The only thing I disagreed with him about in this one was the call to abolish the Electoral College. What was THAT all about? Direct democracy? The Founders would be spinning.

But... no one's perfect!

Here's what I find interesting: this video, our blogs (those of us like-minded), some talk radio, the Limbaugh brouhaha, much more....

Man, I can't remember any other time in at least my life when true doctrinaire CONSERVATIVES were in such a state of unrest.

The key point being "CONSERVATIVES", real traditional ones, not the nose-holder GOP loyalist party-uber-alles cheerleaders like Medved the Deadhead, Sheila and Sandra and Goshawk and Peppermint and other bloggers here, Frum, David Brooks, Michael Steele, McCain, Schwarzenegger, and all the other poseur schmucks who call themselves "conservative" simply because they march into a voting booth and pull the lever for a REPUBLICAN!

These yahoos don't understand in the SLIGHTEST that the words "Republican" and "conservative" don't necessarily have ONE DAMNED THING to do with one another.

Since 1994, when my Congressman won office in the "Gingrich Revolution" freshman class to Congress, I've been one of his staunchest supporters.... right up until the moment he voted for the original "bailout".... TWICE!

I didn't vote for his re-election, demanded the removal of my name from his mailing and email lists, and am very seriously considering running against him next year as an Independant. I was OUTRAGED!

Still am, though more quietly...LOL!

Brian

I got stuck on the same point. If we abolish the electoral college only the big states need bother to vote.

So far my concritter has voted against all of these bills but I am watching him closer than his Momma did on the playground. I decided for now not to send him a tea bag but a nice note reminding him that I have a whole box.

I think we have been in agreement that times were going to have to become much worse to get the mushy middle up in arms but traditional conservatives are already out there and I plan to join them on the 15th.

Let me know when you form your election committee, I'll send you a donation if I still have any money that is!

BTW, check out Glenn Beck's 9/12 project and let know what you think.

Sgt Relic

Thanx for the link! I will indeed be checking this out. The Paine spot is great. Also, you and Brian's commentary is enlightening.

Like a bad penny, I will turn up again to see what you have on tap next!

Sarge

You ain't kiddin' about Nee. I've seen her when she's spun up! Before she moved to the cesspool of Chicago, she met up with me and the kids at Gathering Of Eagles III in DC. I believe she's even in one of the photos in my featured post about counter-protesting.

Sgt.Relic

Yep,other than the crack about ending the E.C.,absolutely spot-on.These azshats seem to have totally forgotten WHO and WHAT they represent.Now,teabags,check,stamps,check,.....

Sarge

I just went to that 9/12 website, and I don't see any "project". It just looks to me like another blog.

Mrs. AL

Thanks for stopping by. Check back I'm working on something new.

Craw

Oh I wasn't joking. I've read some of her posts that were more asterisks than letters. HaHa!

clyde

Everybody talks about taking back the country, this is way it gets done. Just consider the internet our 21st century committees of correspondence but without the time lag.

The tough part is convincing democrat voters that they are being damaged just as badly as we are and need to unload their bad eggs.

Brian

I didn't want to influence your opinion going in which I why I merely suggested that you look at it.

I signed up over there when there were only about 1200 registered users. It has already grown to over 50k and the place is a nightmare from an organizational standpoint.

Comment moderation delays posts for hours making any kind of coherent discussion impossible. Dare I say it? It's more messed up than TH.

Maybe they are suffering for success but so far it's not even a good blog. I like the values and principles but the site structure leaves much to be desired.

It may be a bridge too far for Beck.

Sarge!!

I didn't know I got top billing! So sorry! But ya done good!

We gotta get the word out and participate. Do you know that Cinncinatti had four thousand protesters and the media blew it all off. But 500 protesters show up for Code Pink and it's bs!!

PS...I love asterisks and my version of shorthand text!! Word: Don't tick me off. Heh!!

Nee

I know that's how you roll up in Chi-town!

I left you a comment on your old post but I think you were distracted by losing the draft of your new rant.

I'm looking forward to the April 15th protest. I missed on out all this stuff during the 60's but I've been watching film on it so I can get up to speed but I may not have it just right yet.

I think my chants need work:

"What do we want?"

"A return to the constitutional restraints of government!"

"When do we want it?"

"Before the next bi-cameral elections!"

You see what I mean? I'm going to have to talk to skep41 about this, he was a hippie back in the day.

Okay, Sarge

That explains it, then. That was my take: another Townhall-type blog/site.

LOL

I already spend enough time here!

Brian

Townhall has it's problems but at least you don't have to wait 4 hours to find out if you got to Wobbie.

My Tea is in the Mail

Thanks for hanging a lantern aloft Sgt (salute).

The Marxist are coming!
The Marxist are coming!

Sarge

I was wondering if there were any happening near me...and there is one. I'll have to lie to my left-wing wife and tell her I have an appointment with a 19 year old hooker to get out of the house but an little creative thinking is neccessary to any marriage.

Jim

Thanks, but I think that so read the Marxist is here!!

Skep

I will never understand the liberal mind. Mine's a con, do you think the reverse process would work?

Sgt.Relic

I got a hunch with all this fallout about Wall Street bonuses, and a privacy issue, seeing the way Banking Queen is acting,THAT should send a message to these dupes who voted for this clown.Big myth about the Street being a conservative haven. WHERE do most of these folks live? The city proper, southern Connecticut,Jersey, Long Island, not much red in those areas.Except maybe for some faces.

clyde

I agree. This face-off between Steward and Cramer is a good example. It's two lefties arguing with each other! I read the Cramer editorial and he loves Obama and I don't think there is any question about where Stewart stands.

I saw the Cramer show when had Bob Steele from Wachovia on. Steele did most of the talking and what he said made sense and probably would have worked if the FDIC scare hadn't caused an electronic run on the bank by big depositors.

I'm not buying the party of the rich thing anymore. Conservatives are for the most part middle class citizens who can't afford to be liberals.

Hahahahahahaha!

Yeah, ole Ranger Roberto, AKA Athens Bob!

My buddy.

Hey Sarge.

Stopped by to catch up on your "stuff" and was glad to see the video. I had it up on our group's message board last week. Love it.

We are having a tea party in Nashville 04/15 that I will be in the middle of. Holding my breath for a gazillion conservative citizen march on DC. Hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Keep up the good work Sir, Your posts are great.

Brian

Exactly! You wouldn't want to wait for one his brilliant retorts.

Bobbie

The guy deserves to have a youtube go viral. The local Tea Party is planned to go off at 11am on the 15th, just a block from the busiest intersection in Virginia Beach. I figure the traffic jam alone will make the news!

Great Video!

It's up to us now. Either we assert we are sovereign and free citizens or we lay down and become subjects. I am finally beginning to think there are more of us than them, but we have to protest all the more loudly. I hope and pray for many 3rd party freshmen in the next Congress. Oops! I gues that makes me a domestic terrorist...

HaHaHa!

Chad, are you sure you're allowed to say terrorist now? I thought the Zero administration had come up with a warm and fuzzy name for that.

I'm not certain that the Tea Party thing will catch on big, only time and conditions will tell. The question is: If we get their attention what then?

It's kind a loosely organized group with no real leadership and I haven't seen any prominent leaders out in front of these demonstrations.

At some point we are going to need someone to articulate the message. I like Jim DeMint for it, since he called for demonstrations back in Feb.

Read it here:

http://rochesterconservative.com/blog/senator-jim-demint-sa ving-america-time-to-hit-the-streets/

Yeah, "terrorist" is out

It's so passe. It's a cliche. It's insensitive to ethnic sensibilities. It might harm someone's self-esteem. Can't have that.

I think it's now "catastrophe causer", or something to that effect.

"Human catastrophe engineer", maybe.

HaHaHa!

That's funny, Brian!

When I was in high school I had a part-time job at the local drugstore as a "Fountain Engineer", much preferable to Soda Jerk.

LOL, Sarge

Everybody's an "engineer" of some kind nowdays. "Sanitation engineer"(trash truck driver), "domestic engineer"(housewife), "waste removal engineer"(porta-potty cleaner), "building maintenance engineer"(janitor), etc.

I don't know why I bothered with college.

Sarge

Reveille at my place, new essay.

I claim pride of place

among the phony engineers, I got that job in 1960. Besides, it is engineering after a fashion; you don't think those banana splits come pre-fab do you?

On my way!

PS: BrianR and Sgt Relic

By federal law, a person can only call themselves an "engineer" if they have a "Professional Engineer's" license. The law went into effect in the 1960's but is rarely enforced.

However, in a court of law, if you do not have an engineer's license, you cannot call yourself an "engineer". I have a good friend who is has more electrical engineering knowledge (in certain areas) than I do. He helped train me in the early 1970's in Schenectady, New York with GE. However, he never got his license. At best in a court of law, he can say he is an "expert" in electrical engineering. He cannot say he is an "electrical engineer".

I can call myself an "engineer" as I am licensed in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Arkansas. If you do not have a license and try to perform "engineering" services, the state board of registration (of the state you are working in) WILL take you to court and fine you. In the last 5 years, I know of about 70 or so cases of this occuring in Mississippi.

Ghost

I'm not sure it will ever come up in court but I'll try and remember to describe myself as an "expert" in fountain confections. I was licensed by the board of health, does that count?

Richmond

Ok, Sgt. Relic, I have investigated and will be in Richmond on the 15th. There are so many signs I could create ... going to have to narrow it down!

Sarge

"I will never understand the liberal mind. Mine's a con, do you think the reverse process would work?"

What, you tell her that you're going to a Tea Party and use it for an excuse to visit a nineteen year old hooker? I guess any lie will work if you're cold-blooded enough about it. What the hell does a guy your age want with a nineteen year old hooker? Whats next, a red sports car? I'd like to say I was morally upstanding but the reason I dont go chasing 19yoh's is that I can think of about a thousand things I'd rather spend my money on. I'll steal that line from Catch 22; I'm not going to hang around with beautiful naked women unless there's something in it for me.

Mrs AL

So many choices. I'm thinking something in a generic PO'ed theme or perhaps a single word. Good Luck!

Skep

Man, you are up early!

Now you've gone an destroyed another of my cherished fantasies. I could tell my wife I was going to see a nineteen year old hooker and she'd laugh and laugh and laugh.

Not great for the ego!

I had my red sports car but I did it when I was in my 30's and could enjoy it. If I had extra money to blow I think it would be on a hip replacement sooner than hookers.

Now I'm really depressed!

Sarge

"I could tell my wife I was going to see a nineteen year old hooker and she'd laugh and laugh and laugh."

Mine too. She would probably ask for her address so she could send a sympathy card. Wives are brutal and have no mercy.
I had a sports car when I was young...an MG Midget. My standard joke was that I had an English wife and and English car- in the morning you couldnt get either of them to turn over...

HaHaHa!

I had an MG-B and the same problem with an Irish wife equiped for extra nagging.

Q --Sgt Relic

Wanted to run this past someone ... what would you think of a sign that said:

CONGRESS: DOING THE JOB AMERICAN'S WON'T DO

If you have a moment, let me know your thoughts. Thanx.

Mrs. AL

That's a good one! I'm leaning toward a tombstone theme myself, I just haven't what to put on it yet.

Ghost

Being one myself, of course I know that. One also can't certify plans and specs without the PE.

It's funny that it's become a term of art that's so generic, as in the examples I cited. It's like anyone who's ever run a toy train set in their living room on Christmas Day can be an "engineer". A totally degraded term.

Reminds me of a joke. On Graduation Day, the new graduate sends his Dad a letter:

Dad! I'm so excited! I just graduated! Yesterday, I couldn't even spel injuneer! Today I are one!

Tombstone

Golly if I had the ability to do art work, that sounds like a good theme, Sgt. Relic.

Thanx for your comment on my idea. I just may put this up and take it to Richmond!

Brian, Ghost

I'm going out on a limb here but I feel relatively confident that my fellow citizens, all us non-engineers, recognize a euphemism when we hear it.

I could be wrong, just yesterday a twenty something didn't know which party Red Nanny belongs to.

Mrs AL

I already have the styrofoam tombstone leftover from Halloween all I have to do is paste a sign on it and mount it to a baseball bat. LOL!
