I find it interesting that, in your world, ONLY Democrats are rude and obnoxious and ONLY Republicans are sweet and polite. I find it extremely interesting that the sweetest and most polite of all is First Lady Laura Bush, the only First Lady in American history to be guilty of actually committing murder! But, heck, if she's a Republican, who cares about such petty distinctions! The hypocrisy is amazing.

Also, I don't think either President Johnson or President Nixon regularly flew in a C-141. You can look up the history of the plane if you want. But you probably don't care about facts when you can spend your time vilifying! What fun!! And then of course you don't have to offer any "attrition".

a misguided friend forwarded this transparent piece. My first reaction, like Penny, was the frustration that surges when met with the obvious smear campaigns that some (note, "some" by no means all) republicans indulge in. the person responding to penny states her/his post is "dripping with hate": as usual, these types, these "patriots" never, ever, respond with intelligent discourse, but with personal attacks. what is sad is that this type of "american" hates other americans soley on the basis that they do not think in lock step with them.granted, the statement about Laura is ovbious hyperbole, and its regretable that such a weird charge should be leveled...nothing is solved by stooping to the level of unfounded charges on the other side. It is curious, and any person who is capable of thinking critically will question that all of the dems in the last 40 years were arrogant, cold, uncaring jerks, while all of the republicans were the polar opposite. I would like to ask, what good does it do us to hate each other because our political views differ? Do you republicans who hate really think I am evil, degenerate, ungodly because I might (might!) support H. Clinton? what about the fact that I love my country too? what about the fact that I believe that abortion is taking a life? what about the fact that those of you who are unable to see, execpt in terms of black and white are doing great damage to the country you claim to love by negating unity which has always been a uniquely American value. persuade me that I'm wrong about who I support by intelligent discourse, not by childish, sad attempts to smear candidate's characters.
