How about this, speaking as a "no-no to Soto" devil's advocate. One thing that highly educated black and brown folks have experienced more, usually, that most white folks do, is immersion in more than just one culture. I do think that's what Ms. Sotomayor was alluding to: not that her Latina culture is "richer," but that it's more enriching to know, first hand, what life is like both in the barrio or the ghetto, and at an Ivy league college.

I tend to think so, but at the very same time, I wouldn't place it very high on a list of qualifications for Supreme Court Justice.
