The Gang Problem

The dissolution of the family unit, particularly in inner city culture, has driven people to establish their own families.

God has programmed us to think "family" because that is his ultimate objective for this world: to make a family--to be joined together in the ultimate Kingdom of God.

The lack of guidance, rule sets, and love causes young people to completely lose course. Our culture's fascination and glamorizing of gang life doesn't help, but hinders, as it promotes continuation of bad choices for attention.

I'm going to make a little personal project of talking to these folks.
I know some that I've recently dealt with come from single-mother homes.
But for some reason, I have some trouble blaming single-mother households when it comes to hispanic gangs. The hispanic culture is difficult for me to understand - the men seem to get away with the worst behavior and the women stay with them. In one case, I did see the wife's point that, as an illegal alien who does not speak English, if her husband went to jail for Domestic Violence, she would find herself quickly homeless because she has never worked.
The world can be so complex. I wish there was a pill or a shot or something . . .
