I think he would vote for Mr. Collins. Is Mr Robinson saying the same thing. It's an interesting thought-the blending of Darwinian evolution and creation - it is almost "tolerable" and isn't that what we are really teaching is tolerance? Just saw another TV special about the Galapogos Islands. They sure are a scientific playground for all kinds of theories. Couldn't it be just as well creation's Eden?

The Galapagos as creation's Eden -- an interesting thought. The whole idea of creation and evolution going hand-in-hand intrigues me ... I definitely believe that God created everything, and that He certainly could've created evolution if He'd wanted to. Such a melding of the two belief systems does require, as Collins notes, that the creation account in Genesis be taken metaphorically instead of literally (each "day" of creation being an undefined span of time); it's a tantalizing theory, and I'm THAT close to accepting it. The one remaining thing that I can't hack, at this point, is the idea that we came from apes; it seems, somehow, to lessen our value.
By the way, is this Dan T. of Windsor, Maine?

Second, I do not believe we came from apes - Although I know some folks who seem like they came from apes! :)
Third, My God, Our God, the One and Only God could have created the world in 6 24 hour periods becuse with Him NOTHING is impossible! or he could have taken 6 millennia! I also believe this: God could have created a place like the Galapogos Islands(GI) just to confound and intrigue a faithless, scientific community, a community, BTW, that will take the tiniest, tiniest piece of archeological evidence and create a completely new segment in the time line of their evolution. He who has eyes to see, let him see the mighty works of the Lord! Faith tells me that God is so great, He created the GI for our sensory enjoyment. What a Mighty God we serve!
