Republican Group Opposes Kennard’s Retention

Dear Mr. Cischke,

Thank you for your article! Before I read it, I wasn't sure whether or not to keep Joyce Kennard in her position with the Supreme Court. It is YOUR ARTICLE that convinced me to vote her IN!

I side with HER! So... thanks again for your article!

It frustrates me to know there are people like you in the world who want to legislate away the rights of others. There are way too many young ladies who cannot trust their parents enough to inform them of their pregnancy situation and choices.

Personally, I don't agree with abortion. I wouldn't WANT any of MY family members making the choice to abort. However, I will NOT impose MY opinion onto the young girls that find themselves in that situation. It's easy for ME to dictate what THEY should do, since "I" could never be in the same situation. It takes a person who can have insightful empathy to understand that the choice should lie with the individual who must then live the rest of her life with the choice she makes.

I am THRILLED to learn that Joyce Kennard does NOT want to force parent notification in THIS situation. It was YOUR article that provided the information I needed to feel good about my vote to keep Joyce Kennard in her position.

Not everyone has wonderful, understanding and supportive parents!!!
