Looming Crisis: "Sub-Prime" Voters

You leave out SO much REALITY..........

First, "rich" AREN'T paying their "fair share," as out OWN Governments latest GAO Report showed.
"Comparison of the Reported Tax Liabilities of Foreign- and U.S.-Controlled Corporations, 1998-2005"
Results from REPORT:
About 2/3 OF ALL foreign- and U.S.-controlled corporations showing NO TAX LIABILITY?
COME ON,
Stop the scam corporate America, and PAY YOUR TAX SHARE.
http://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-08-957

ALSO,
The FLOODGATES OPENED due mainly to Bush and his puppets during THEIR YEARS.

"THE VOLUME OF SUBPRIME LOANS TRIPLED FROM 2002 TO 2006."(page 13 of OFHEO [INDEPENDENT OFFICE within HUD])
http://www.ofheo.gov/media/pdf/OFHEOPARNovember2007508.pdf

CAUSED MAINLY BY,
AMERICAN DREAM DOWN PAYMENT ACT of 2003 BUSH AND LOCK-STEPPED REPUBLICANS RAMMED THROUGH.

WHO AT SIGNING STATED,
"It is in our national interest that more people own their own home."
"This legislation will authorize $200 million per year in down payment assistance to at least 40,000 low-income families."
"I set a goal to add 5.5 million new minority homeowners in America by the end of the decade."

In CLOSING,
Why is it when you discuss 'George SOROS', on THIS SITE, you ALWAYS leave out the MCCAIN CONNECTION, as even partisan republican website WorldNetDaily and Corsi has documented?

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=56745
---------------------------
But OBVIOUSLY, some GOOD people on BOTH sides of the isle tried to STOP this mess.

Soros SubHuman past prime!

The UK paid off Soros to keep him fron destroying the Pound. He doing the same to the $USD.

Paladin!

Right on! The left/libs/progressives want to control all our lives. Why do so many not see their ultimate agenda? They are to elect Barack Hussein Obama at their peril and, unfortunately, ours! Socialism is knocking on freedom`s door and the American electorate may unwittingly welcome it! Good post!

Lone?

A simple economics lesson. Corporations don't pay taxes. Consumers of their products pay the taxes. If the government taxes them at 50%, they must pass that cost along to the consumer, ultimately, the individual. If the tax liability is less, the consumer pays less. And how is it that the U.S. with the second highest corporate tax rate in the world is not paying its fair share?
I'm the first to say that Bush was wrong in his handling of the "ownership society" houses for everyone policy. This goes back to Carter and Clinton and FDR and Liberal, Socialist policies that makes the government the source of success for all. Read your Constitution. It's not supposed to be this way.

LONE

"Reality?"

Bobs My Uncle has it right - your post illustrates perfectly the economic illiteracy of the left.

And dial down the angry hysteria - you'll only give yourself a heart attack. Soon you and your comrades will achieve your Marxist dream, so be happy!

Peace! (through superior fire-power, that is)

bob's my uncle, WHAT?

"And how is it that the U.S. with the second highest corporate tax rate in the world is not paying its fair share?"

You ANSWERED your OWN QUESTION!

TAX RATE (Yes, SEEMS HIGH) IF that is what WE PAID!!!

WHO PAYS their 'TAX RATE?'
From the BOTTOM to the TOP?
COME ON, NOT MANY and you know it.

AS I already documented for corp. America,
WITH OUR Governments latest GAO Report showed.

About 2/3 OF ALL foreign- and U.S.-controlled corporations showing NO TAX LIABILITY?
COME ON!
http://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-08-957

PLUS: bob's my uncle & John Caile

I sourced nothing but GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS, and a republican site, which supported every single point I made.

What have you offered...... BUT opinion?

AND, as I stated:
"But OBVIOUSLY, some GOOD people on BOTH sides of the isle tried to STOP this mess."

Lone

It is obvious you only read one or two sentences at the GAO site about tax liabilities of corporations. Nowhere does that site state that "About 2/3 of ALL foreign and US controlled corps show no tax liabilty" as you wrote in your comment. It is telling that your statement is not in quotes. You knew those were your own words. Typical liberal tactic of deception.

What that report says is, "FCDCs (foreign controlled domestic corporations) reported lower tax liabilities than USCCs (US Controlled Corporations)by most measures shown in this report. A greater percentage of large FCDCs reported no tax liability in a given year from 1998 through 2005."

And, "Most large FCDCs and USCCs that reported no tax liability in 2005 also reported that they had no current-year income."

It is common sense that if you have no income you pay no tax. Income is "discretionary proceeds" and does not include money spent in the process doing business. Those are known as deductions and everyone, even you, take full advantage of being able to claim deductions to lower their taxes. Well, maybe YOU don't, but most Americans are wise enough to do so.

Your entire comment is rife with similar propaganda and spin and anyone wishing to know the FACTS does so quite easily. You are just more evidence in support of the truth about liberals. You believe that if you tell a lie enough times people will start to believe it.

The only thing you overlook is, Conservatives are just plain smarter and more honest than you libs and we don't take anything for granted. We search out the truth which immunizes us from dishonesty.

Wise up Lone. Most Americans see right through liberal BS such as yours. After all, we've been hearing it for more than a few decades.

Lone

Again, I reiterate, that no matter what you charge to a corporation, they do not pay it. That cost is passed down the line to you and me, the consumer. You can source all the government documents you want. You can get one to say anything you want. Principles, my dear Lone, principles. We are in the fix we are in because we have traveled far from basic principles that work on the basest of levels, ie. between two honest people. Throw the government largesse in the mix and all honesty goes out the window. When the money is free, you don't have to be responsible for what you do, you can just walk away when it gets too hard, or if it's time to just move on. No strings attached, see?

glnflwrs

Good one. Just one small correction. "Most Americans" are dumb as fence posts when it comes to macro-economics. I, myself, am on a steep learning curve. Just one of the reasons we're in such a mess.

Sub-prime voters

Well, well, well...you hit that nerve, didn't you? Looks like your post attracted a certain dissenting point of view, shall we say?
Without resorting to an economics expert, it has always seemed just plain logical to think that if we super-tax corporations, or scoop away their "windfall" profits, we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Who provides jobs to drive our economy? Who provides goods for us to buy? Why is this so difficult to understand?
If we want to destroy corporations, aren't we asking to return to a time when we spent most of our daily energy raising food and making goods for our families consumption - thus, making sites like TH or, say, the Daily KOS, completely irrelevant? No one would have the time, much less the energy, to spend pontificating about the government or anything else except the best way to make butter, or a better technique to make shoes out of old tires. Oh, wait, would we have tires? Those are made by a big, bad, corporation, aren't they? Uh-oh, even worse...they use petroleum products...whatever will we do.....?

bob's my uncle...

You got that right. Most Americans don't even try to understand the workings of the economy. But, more often than not, when pukes like Obama come along spewing their bile about how only they can fix all the problems and make everyone happy, we end up with a Republican in the Whitehouse. And that hasn't always been a really good thing either, but always better than a fascist liberal, or an elitist snObama.

I'll take the less liberal candidate everytime.

Thanks bob's nephew.

JohnCaile

Thanks for setting up this little debate. What you say about who pays taxes is absolutely true. If the truth were known (that is, WIDELY known), the left has already got what it says it wants. The rich pay WAY more than their fair share of taxes. If the Flat or Fair tax were implemented, my personal tax bill would go up. But if I don't have to take a month of weekends to file my return, then I won't mind so much. Sheesh, that just burns me.

Uuuuuh, Lone...

Your typical foaming at the mouth liberal anger aside, you completely missed the point of the article - it wasn't even about corporate tax rates - it was about INDIVIDUAL tax rates and how Democrats manipulate them to create a built in voter base - which they are.

Oh, and for your information, the numbers are all from the actual IRS tax returns that showed what the various groups paid AFTER all deductions.

I'm a patient man, but damn, liberals can be so utterly obtuse as to make discussion all but impossible (Lone, you had to look up "obtuse", didn't you?)

Cindy

Thank you for your cogent comments. It's nice to know that there are thinking women who "get it."
