Your Post

I have to say I agreed with everything you wrote. I'm an enviromental Republican but honestly trying to study all the info on climate change is so daunting I rarely ever even atempt it. So I simplified my position, to quote a caveman- pollution bad.

Your post pointed out what Nicholas Kristoff of "The New York Times" did in his recent column about the trouble with the death of newspapers and the rise of selective information. As for questioning religious conservatives, I do so in my personal life very rarely. People's view of faith can be very fraigle and often their only lifeline. I can be slightly more outspoken on my blog which I suppose is a good outlet.

Daunting Notions

I agree, Christopher. The information out there can be daunting. And not just anyone can make sense of it. But anybody can put their own spin on it if they want. So if they want global warming to be a crisis, they can do that by selectively interpreting data just like Kristoff described. The big problem is the people who get the message don't always check their facts. If you do the research about whether or not global warming is man made, you won't get a yes or no answer. As far as science is concerned, nobody knows for sure. That uncertainty is what scares people. And as I said earlier, you always fear what you don't understand.
