The New Rules

What's so interesting is that for many young people, their online selves become their idenity. Their reputation and relationships become defined by their facebook page. And even if you are discret, their is always someone posting things elsewhere. Even though I have never put a picture up of myself online, there are dozens if not more around the internet world. It's scary, at what point does it become too much?

Privacy

Technology has paced ahead of social norms. It is going to take time for our culture to develop to handle the new electronic media.

You're right. I'm not likely to post anything embarrassing. My fear of what others might post keeps me from doing a lot of things. I like how some parties say, "No cameras." Maybe that's a natural stipulation. Too many people don't recognize the importance of privacy.
