That most people into sci-fi aren't involved with any traditional religious affiliation. So your comments are consistent with that. However -- I will say this playing devils advocate; if there were "others" in the galaxy, we'd embarass ourselves because we can't get along on this planet, how would we embrace them... this of course qualified with the understanding that there migh be LDS or Scientology folks out there.
