Will the real conservative party, please stand up!

Hey Republic.....

You have good concerns but do not give up. I am 70 and have tried to be a conservative since I was 15 whrn I wrote to and read Bill Buckley's God and Man at Yale. You can only support the best possible conservPub you can. Sure, they will fail you because we are all sinners and do fail but no Dem is worth a wasted vote. None. Since the '30's, the liberal Dems have done all to destroy this democratic capitalistic republic that they can in the name of peace, justice, and fairness. It is hogwash without boundaries, historical context and cultural mores. They do not have any of the above. So keep up the good fight friend. Drop by my newest.

My father was fed that propaganda as well when he was a kid as well. The Democratic Party was NEVER the party of the working man. I vote conservative. I've been a Republican all my life because most of the time they are the most conservative, even though the last few years they have been more moderate. I have had it with moderation. Stop by my place when you get a chance.

government. Both parties are taking away control of our lives and giving it to big government. The GOP is several slashes less at it though, and there are those in the party who share my values. That's worth fighting for, we can't roll over. Good post Freeman.

I am struck by two things, Freeman:

First, your autobio sketch says that you're "[d]isabled . . . permanent and total", but your writing is so insightful and eloquent.

Second, you are so focused on the scourge of homosexuality, when an objective and rational (i.e., conservative") assessment of the serious problems that America faces would probably not rank it in the top fifty. My top five, for example, would likely include (1)liberalism/socialism and liberal fascism, (2) ignorance, (3) government schools, (4) the National Education Association [NEA], and (5) Islamofascism.

Great treatment of the issue. Your bread crumbs analogy is powerful.

It would appear it's no longer about 'party' any longer. U.S. Citizens either want the Constitutional Republic given us or we need to scrap the document and the Declaration of Independence and just give in to whoever happens to be in control at the time.

Thanx for the thoughtful blogpost.
