I hope they hang tight as well, but as far I'm concerned they are political lightweights. They put on an act of conservatism when it serves their interest, but they are siding with extreme liberalism in general. If they stick to their guns, so be it. My fear is that they do strike a compromise. This legislation needs to be killed. So many times Republicans have compromised with liberal agenda items in the name of getting something passed. That irks me. May this thing die a loud and ugly death that the public remembers well.

tells me or my family what I can or cannot do, medically, will be the day I go into open revolt. What is being proposed by O'Vomit and the Dumbocraps is NO different than what the Nazis under Hitler did (except the Nazis were alittle more open in how they instituted their programs).

O'Vomit and the Dumbocraps are proposing to "Play God" and decide who gets to live or die. But you will also note that the US Congress is exempt from this program. That should say it all.

Just today, Rahm and the WH hinted that our taxes would be raised if , if one clung to the old insurance coverage as they are 'benefits'. Every time this WH speaks, it becomes closer to a tyranny in which tyrannies would just fade away without the lemmings being aware. So taxing healthcare as a benefit, just another Federal Olympian right given to us peons down here on the earth from the faux Messiah. Drop by my newest.

It really is troubling to know that our country is being led by a whole bunch of people that hate the very premises that it was founded upon. Americans have their ownselves to thank for the most part. These idiots in Congress were actually elected, not to mention the President. Our elections are so stupid. They've all been reduced to such drivel, lacking any real substance. I hope people are waking up to the fact that elections do matter. As long as citizens take a backseat to the machinations of government, they will get whatever whims these clowns come up with. No accountability in government will always lead to tyranny.

Very thoughtful essay, Good Al! No good could ever come from runaway abortions on demand, funded by the US taxpayers. Despicable for the govt to enable them. Even China has started to back off its one-child policy. I also worry for Catholic Hospitals that may be forced to close for refusing to do abortion. I can even see some who would bait them and raise havoc.

My uncle is almost 90 years old. He worked in the coal mines for a time and then went into heavy construction. He was a Superintendent for MK on the Alaska Pipeline in the 70s. He is still spunky but is on dialysis. Yes, he is old and we are all bracing for our goodbyes. But who has the right to deny life or to define what quality of life is or should be?

Dawn, we must stand and fight. Never surrender. What we are seeing is an attack on what is left of Western civilization. Is there any other country that was founded on the premise that each individual is unique and endowed by God with certain unalienable rights. This health care and the rest of the socialist agenda seeks to destroy the sanctity of the individual. The idea of the importance of each individual came from God. My own life was spared when I cracked my skull in 1999 after drinking a bottle of gin. Health care professionals did there best to save my life at each step of the way. They gave their all to save the life of some drunk that they did not know. I just don't think a government run system would have the kind of dedication it took by so many people to save my life. This health care will be a terrible blow to our senior citizens. We must do all we can for their sake. Not to mention children with serious health problems, and everybody in between.
