Promiscuity is the norm rather than the exception. That is what happens when the government ties our hands and prevent us from disciplining and instructing our children.

A Health Issue, Too.
By permitting medication of and surgical procedures on minors, without the knowledge and consent of the parents OR the child's primary physician, the child faces an incredibly dangeous circumstance where the cause of an unexpected complication and emergent crisis is concealed from those trying to render aid to the child.
For example, pulmonary embolism is a severe and life-threatening complication of thrombi in the femoral and pelvic veins due to routine injuries, particularly adolescent females on oral contraceptives. Death may result quickly.
Teen girls have died or suffered strokes, as a result of contraceptive therapy. In situations like this, time is of the essence. If the teen receives these pills without the knowledge of her parents or primary physician.
Similar issues apply to post-abortion complications, so the risks are real and consequences are severe, even if the incidence is rare.

Finishing a thought ...
I meant to say:
If the teen receives these contraceptive pills without the knowledge of her parents or her primary physician, precious time is lost attempting to identifying the causative factor.

but of course you know...
the parents will be blamed when the girl is taken to the hospital because her life is in danger and the parents cannot answer what medications she is taken, or if she is sexually active, or pregnant; all thanks to our beloved liberal dunces.

Parent Punished For Abuse Or Neglect
Yes, Joe, that's the drill. The parents could have/should have known, as any reasonable parent would have known, that a third party confidentially gave the child contraceptives or an abortion.
I'm not necessarily against contraceptives for minors, provided parents are in the loop. The kid needs to get the straight dope on disease, too.
Cutting the parents out is a very scary concept.
