Funny thing is, are we becoming more left than Europe!

I've also seen news from Pakistan the affect the Taliban are having on Bedouins and regular citizens in small villages, and hope that the Taliban is beaten back, not only for their sakes, but to prevent nuclear arms from being taken.

If the socialist in Europe had seen enough of 20% unemployment and 60% taxes maybe the U.S. citizens will finally catch on as well.

that Obama and his Administration are pleased with the Lebanon results. Deep down inside, he supports the Islamists and their mission to turn Lebanon into an armed encampment for all of the forces that will destroy Israel.

that EU countries seem to be turning sharply right while we are leaning further left than ever before in our history. All green shoots treasured. Baby steps indeed. Keep 'em coming.

A local WRE talk show host had lambasted the NAACP over one of its many stupid press releases. While doing so, he used the full name instead of the acronym. Some leftist loon called in to complain that his saying "Colored People" was racist. A bit of banter later, the host declared a name change for the organization on his show. From then on it would be refered to as National Association for the Advancement of African-Americans, or more simple NAAAA. You can guess how he pronounces that.

Dave-the cracks have been showing for most of us since before the election. Maybe when pundits stop calling barry "God" I'll be a little more optimistic. But right now, these are dark days. There is very little in the way of hope for the short term. Too bad, since that was all he was selling.

but just a word of caution. I don’t know about the rest of Europe, but Italy’s left and right politics always move within the confines of socialism.

I’ve seen this fractured multi-party system go though governments faster than Obama spends money; including the communist party. And very little ever changes. Roman Catholic communists. I never could figure that out.

By (former) American standards, taxes are outrageous, state bureaucracy always menacingly present, corruption ubiquitous, social programs abound, stifling government regulations at all levels, and powerful unions the rule...regardless of who in Rome is lining their pockets.

So while this may be a victory in the PR sense, or perhaps elsewhere, the realities of entrenched socialism don’t pay much attention to headlines, or it seems government leaders.

ITN-Communist Catholics-As a cradle RC myself, I never got that either. Likewise the Obama stickers in the parking lot at church, what with the pro-abortion stance and what not. Your main point is well taken. That would be why these are just green shoots as opposed to a full blown reformation. Color me still sceptical.

As the EU moves right, we move left. So we need a unified conserv-libertarian-ReaganDem move right here to combat the socialist pacifist agenda of BHO. I will not be surprised to see the Iranian thug reelected big time. And we still face a N.Korea which will never allow elections unless this regime is killed off and reunited with the South. As far as NoKo goes, I wonder if the Chicoms are letting this spiral out of control to entice the US into a shooting war, as war is one of the best stimuli for an ailing economy. I've heard they purchased most of the surplus brass and copper. What do you make with those 2 ingredients? Bullets. That may be the reason I can't find ammo for my .380. Given the fact that they can never get paid back from a defaulting US, that may be their last option.

Politically, the left is involved in massive overreach, and the blowback will be just as massive.
