STATE LEGISLATURES TO CONFRONT WASHINGTON

My favorite line,

or at least one of them, is: "pass a resolution dissolving the federal government and rendering it of no authority, being null and void, and issuing indictments in every state for the violations and warrants for the arrest of all officials, I believe that might get their attention". I'm wondering what some of the Christian Legal organizations might do to help either get the word out that this is an option, or actually filing some kind of huge class action suit representing We The People.

Great work, Glenn. Speaking of the "criminal" aspect of this administration, I'd recommend you go to http://garnet92.blogtownhall.com/
and read his very informative post on “Obama, ACORN, and the Cloward-Piven Strategy.”

Bobbie

Thanks for the kind words.

I left garnet92 a comment that I had sent that post to Glenn Beck as he's investigating ACORN now.

We do think alike. Must be the American in us.

Catch 22

Excellent idea, but I fear the depravity of states governments are no less. My own state has shifted heavily into socialism, primarily because of the major concentrations of political power (and redistributionist bribery) in the large cities.

However, there is a tiny light of hope on the horizon with many states, even mine, passing state Sovereignty resolutions, declaring themselves not subject to the will, whim, and tyranny of a nationalized bureaucracy.

I think as well as pushing for state sovereignty in any way we can, conservatives need also to focus on an individual, local, and state level to establish successful groundswell for liberty.

My greatest concern with states banding together to stand against the national government, to urge for a return to federal government, is that the power of the largest states, under the control of the hard left, will do likewise, and find more ways around the electoral process, moving toward straight democracy, which has been called the illusion through which everyone seeks to live at the expense of everyone else.

What we really need is a re-enlightening to the principles of Burke, Locke, Smith, de Tocqueville and more recently, Rand, Friedman, Hayek, Bestiat, Orwell, Hazlitt, Von Mises, Sowell, and countless others.

Keep it up. We have a long way to go.

We have lots of Indians

looking for just one great chief to lead us. I've heard about the caucus. When I get caught up, [my computer crashed Fri.] I'll spend some time there.

I've forwarded this and Garnet92's piece and a couple others to those who I cherish. Their eyes will be tired from all the reading, but they're always grateful for my efforts to keep them informed.

Joseph

Thanks for dropping by.

I do believe that, locally, we might be able to halt this rolling snowball. The assemblymen, district reps, and councilmen are much more susceptible to the angry crowds.

I think, also, that the states are the only ones who could garner standing before the courts, if the judges aren't too busy empathizing with the world.

I doubt, however, that there is anyway to ever reverse what harm has been done.

"Have you ever found in history one single example of a nation thoroughly corrupted, that was afterward restored to virtue? And without virtue there can be no political liberty."
---John Adams

Thanks again.

I sent Garnet92's ACORN piece to Glenn Beck as he is investigating them. There was a lot of info in that essay.

I had forgotten about Cloward and Piven bankrupting New york. Been a long time.

Thanks young brave. Hehe....

Glenn

Thanks for the addresses.

Mississippi's governor (Haley Barbour) will probably sign the 10th Amendment Bill that the State Legislature passed. At least I hope so.

GG

Thay's what I'm here for, to do whatever I can.

As V Bushmills would say, I'm the C student in the room.

Glenn, I would wish for the same thing

Unfortunately, I think it is too early for an action like that to work. This state sovereignty movement seems to be gaining momentum and that is a first step. We do need to push our respective states to enact Tenth Amendment laws. The feds are waaay past what was envisioned by the framers.

Glenn

We are LONG past the point of debate, confrontations WILL become more FREQUENT and CONTENTIOUS!

Young brave?

Not hardly. Old fool would be closer to the truth. Wife, mother, grandmother, nearing an age of great-grandmother. I'm active in trying to insure a future for my family. I appreciate those of you who have the time and talent to research and write about the subject that is near and dear to my heart. God, family and country.

Thank you, sir.

Glenn,

I’ve joined the Caucus and urged my state reps, Martinez, Nelson, Mica, and Crist to do likewise.

Very useful post! Thanks…

Garnet92

I live in the land of LA. You know, the "Left Coast". Governator territory. My Republican State Representitive sends me "Green Updates" every month showing how in-tune he is with the environment. I e-mailed him once or twice telling him that, for that reason alone I would never vote for him.

My Rep. to Congress, Jerry Lewis(R), is under investigation by the DOJ for embezzlement of campaign funds.

None of Cals politicians are worth cat litter.

But, this caucus should get to rolling in a month or two.
